Week 4 Run 1 any advice!

I’m due to run my first week 4 run tonight and I’m not quite sure how I’ll be able to run 5 mins without stopping!? I struggled with 3 mins in week 3!

All you need do is take it slow and steady trust the programme and more importantly have faith in yourself if you don't manage it treat it as a practice but don't go out with the attitude that you can't do because you can.

I totally agree with absolutely EVERYTHING you say

I’m 54 - also very overweight but somehow I’m on week 8 this week

How did I go from couch to week 1 would have been my question 7 weeks ago but now I know it’s the power of C25k!! It’s amazing!

Don't think about it, you CAN do it.

Well done for getting through the first 3 weeks, that's quite an achievement.

Now, you must trust in the program ... you're not the first one to feel apprehensive about moving on ... so all you have to do now is get your running shoes on, earphones in and do what your coach tells you ... and keep going until he or she says stop! Simples!

Slow, slow and even slower is the way forward, before you know it you'll be home posting about how you got on.

Good Luck!

One foot in front of the other.. slow and steady... really, really slow , and really, really steady.. Just relax and try to land lightly :)

You can do it..:)

Like others have said, slow it right down and take it lightly. Breathe. Smile(when all you really want to do is grimace). There's no doubt at all that you can do it.I am 4.5 stone overweight and am going to be doing week 9 run 1 tomorrow morning. I remember thinking "Heck.. I can't run for 5 minutes" but you'll amaze yourself, you really will.

You'll be fine. Good advice up there. Slow down jog as slow as you can. I was there only last week and dreading it but got through it. By the third run you will have it down to a t. Best of luck.
