Good LORD that was hard! I got through it though! I decided that this week I wasn’t going to look ahead and just run with it... well, when Sarah said I had my last run and it was 5 mins I was gutted 😩😩. But anyway. I did it! I have realised that I start off too quickly because I’m all excited and energised and I like the feeling of running quickly. However, I know that will set me up for a fall as the runs get longer so I started off slow and I really think it got me through to the end. Goodness me on to run 2... 🏃🏽♀️
Week 4 Run 1: Good LORD that was hard! I got... - Couch to 5K
Week 4 Run 1
Big deep breaths and take it steady, a fantastic effort getting through it, you’re gonna love the rest of it 🤘🤪🤘🤪
You can do this TeeBedders; remember that snail in you!
Your doing a grand job tee , and no mention of your knee pain so I'd say it's all positive 👍. Steady is the key tee 😁!!. 👌✌
Well done and yes go slow that will get you to the end of each run. Good luck 😊
well done TeeBedders 🙌 another run done, so it was hard yes but you did it, maybe you didnt do it as stylish as you would have liked but its done. Like you have said - keep a slower steady pace especially as runs get longer👍🐢
if you need to race off do your quick stint for the last minute of your run. You doing fine😊
Yup, slow at the start and leave the sprint finish to the end of you can. It’s not easy, but so worth the effort.
Keep running! 👏👍
Well done for keeping going. Slow and steady is the mantra that’s keeps you going till the end. You’re doing great so onwards and upwards.
Well done on getting through it! I remember that run well....after the second three minutes i thought that was it. That was the first time i let a torrent of verbal abuse rain down on poor Jo and she was only doing her job! 🤣
But well done you 👏👏👏 YOU DID IT!!!
You’ve highlighted the issue... you like to go fast, so all you need to do is move that fast to the end instead of the beginning. When I run now I can tell a few minutes out if I can do that faster finish, and either just jog to the end or put in that burst at the end to have fun... it’s not possible to do that the other way round and so you sometimes end a run clinging on in there. Of course running tired is a good thing to be able to do... and learning to dig deep and get through is building the mental strength which can be as important as the physical side.
Anyway, it was a hard run... you stand victorious at the end of it... great job. Enjoy that run 2
Thank you so much! I’m going to conserve my energy until the end.. hopefully! Just wondering, do you still find runs hard now you’re experienced?
Slow and steady....no need for speed... Relax as the runs get longer and enjoy
Well done - you’ll have good runs and not so good runs but you are doing great and you learn from the not so good runs. Slow and steady 👍🏻
Oooh I have week 4 run 1 to do today. I have been thinking about doing the last run of week 3 first, just to prepare me haha. Well done !!
Thank you! How did you get on? 🙂
Well I did it! Haha. I really surprised myself actually. Didn't think I would but I did. I need to keep myself hydrated throughout the day though as I got really thirsty xx
Well done you! That’s great to hear! Yes sometimes the thirst catches me off guard, when I think I’ve drank enough in the day but I haven’t 🙈 xx
Just done W3R2 digging in on the last 3 mins, looking forward to W4 I think music may get me through, can't run any slower, had heart attack last December, on wards and upwards tee
