I’m new here. Week 9 run 3 completed. Can’t quite believe I’ve achieved it. In the last year I have lost nine stone and now I am a runner too. What next?

Many, many congratulations! Graduated myself today so share your elation! And what an achievement on losing weight too - that's truly amazing.

What next - celebrate first 😊 and then decide! It sounds as though you'll achieve whatever you decide to do in style!

What next?

Well for starters stand on that podium a while and listen to the cheers. Then give yourself a big slap on the back for completing this.

And then, a lot of folk just consolidate at 5km for a while to get the stamina and fitness levels up and getting the legs used to running the distance and then there is the 10k forum on here where lots of people can tell you about going for the 10k if that is what you are after.

But great news on the 5k and superb news on the weight loss.

You must be so proud of yourself and rightly so!!

Congratulations, whoop whoop, go you!!!

What next? As they say on "Strictly", keeeeeeeeeep running!

Get your badge, enjoy the applause 👏👏👏👏, join the bridge to 10k forum and keep us all updated on how you're doing.

I consolidated for a few weeks and am now doing a 10k trainer app (exceptionally slowly) while still making sure I do one solid 5k a week. I am also thinking about joining parkrun... best of luck in whatever your next step on the journey is!! Xxx

Congratulations and...consolidation... Lots of 30 minute runs is what is next!

You have just started the whole process of running.. the legs are building up as is the stamina and strength ..now you need to work on it.. A couple of weeks and maybe then try the C25K+ podcasts..:)

But first... bask in the glory ! Well done:)

That's inspiration right there! Did the running help your weight loss? I'm in Wk4 & it's not helping so far 😂

I lost the weight following the wonderful Michael Moseley’s Blood Sugar Diet. It was only after getting down to my target that I started on the couch to 5k. But it surely can’t hurt can it?

WOW!!!! That is hugely inspiring - well done! I echo the advice of Oldfloss - do some consolidation runs, maybe build up to a 5k - parkruns are always something I recommend - and then, if you're ready to, maybe look to step things up. But, here's the thing, you don't have to. If you run 5k three times a week then that's a great commitment. You just have to chose what's right for you.

Parkrun’s are the way to go. I shall certainly do so. Just did my first post-grad run yesterday morning in a new location and with a mat. Running for fun! Who knew?

Well done you, both massive achievements, you should be so proud of yourself.

Accept the adulation of the crowd for a while, because you have earned it, then, plan your progression to longer runs?

Hopefully see you posting your progress on here ... 😊
