I've just completed week 5 run 2 and have stupidly looked ahead at the next run. 20 minutes sounds like a really big jump, how has everyone got on with this? Is it more the mental 'I really don't think I can do this' that I have to get past? Thinking rationally, I never believed I'd be able to do 8 minutes 5 weeks ago but this feels like a big step. Any advice appreciated
UPDATE : Thanks so much to everyone for your encouraging replies, I've only gone and done it! Really didn't think I would be able to and I feel fantastic. Tonight is the first time when I've really believed that I'll be able to run for 30 minutes, looking forward to week 6

You'll be fine. Stop worrying about it. This programme is progressive, so if you finish one week you can move on. Going slowly enough is key! If you keep going slow and steady you'll nail the runs
Do a search for W5R3 and you will find all the worries like yours and also all the posts from people saying they didn't believe they could do it.........but did.
Between warm up and cooldown you moved without stopping for 21 minutes on your last run..............is 20 minutes actually such a big step up?
This is the time to believe in the plan and in yourself. We know you can do this........so it is up to you.
When you think about it logically your only actually running for 4 extra minutes- you’ve already ran 15/16 minutes quite a few times if you look back at your history. Just take it nice and slow and I reckon you’ll smash it. I have mine next thurs. At 1st I thought WHAT!!! and then I broke it down and thought- yes that is actually achievable- you can so do this- let us know how you get on 😊
If you look up posts for this distance I think you will find that loads of people find this run is a turning point for them. You think that it will be too long, but if you take it steady, think you will do it and are determined, you will surprise yourself. The euphoria afterwards is great and it is often at that time that you realise that running for 30minutes will be achievable for you eventually!
I love love loved this run. Finally, a chance to stretch my legs and test how far I had come. And you know, it was not so bad. In fact, I really enjoyed it.
The key is to start off nice and slow - and keep it slow. You want to finish this 20 mins, so pace yourself. It is not a race. Plan a flat route if you can and KNOW you can do it.
It is mental, more than physical really. And this programme has made you ready! Enjoy! 😀🏃♀️
Yes, you are.. take it slow and steady and just relax... you trust the programme, as IannodaTruffe says, you believe in yourself and KNOW you are going to do this
I did W5R3 yesterday, and leading up to it thought the same as you. Then post run sat there amazed how doable it was, I’m now looking forward to my next big one 😃
