Warning - trumpet blowing post!

After being a bit scared of this session it finally loomed this morning. I haven't had much sleep all week due to the hot nights, started a new full time job and picked my son up from a late night party. Got uo at 6, love running in the morning. After the first 5 minutes I didn't think I would make it but gave myself a talking too saying I know I can run 8 minutes so what's the problem! Laura told me I had run for 10 minutes so I was half way there, I began to think I might just do it. 15 minute mark and my legs were getting heavy but at the 2 minutes to go I suddenly found a burst of energy and really quickened the pace. ( I'm sure it's the music at the end of the podcast that spurred me on). At last it was over, I gave a jump in the air and a big whoop much to the amusement of the dog walkers I'm sure.

This is a big achievement for me. 48, overweight and not run since I was at school and that was probably in the egg and spoon race!

So for all of you approaching this session with some trepidation, you can do it. Many have said it before but this programme is amazing. I may be falling a little in love with running!

We are doing much whooping and hollerin here this morning as folks are nailing these runs right, left and centre! Well done peeps as this hot spell is such a challenge. So, double, trumpet blowing allowed

Stay calm, go steady, just slow jogs please and you will all get to Graduation with no injuries. In a way I suppose the hot spell could be a blessing in disguise as it's not encouraging folks to let rip and do too much too soon

Happy running all and keep us posted on progress
