Felt you deserved to see a sweaty unshaven me after hearing "Your officially a runner" from Laura - I know there are several posts like this, but feeling amazed quite frankly that I managed to complete that run. This is not the face of someone who 6 weeks ago could have run for 25 minutes. It was a struggle - legs felt stiff this morning - but conditions were great so I gritted my teeth and ran through the "toxic legs" in the first 5 minutes and when they re-appeared at 15 minutes I pushed my way through that as well. I did think they were playing with my head by minute 24 - seemed like the longest 4 minutes after the 20 minute mark, and sorry Laura - but nothing in the tank today to up the pace for the last minute - maybe next week after a couple of rest days.
But amazingly I did it ..........I ran for a full 25 minutes - that was not on my agenda at the start of the year.

Thank you - and well done you for your progress so far - Think your due to do the same run either today or tomorrow if I follow your posts correctly so Good Luck - If I can you can!
Thank you tooπ... yes I am but I'm suffering with very achey thighs today and have a huge wedding to attend on Sunday so will probably take a few rest days so I still have my dancing legs π¬
Dancing counts as strengthening exercises to me - and Angela Rippon just told me via the medium of the Telly that Dancing is the best all round fitness you can do, and Angela Rippon is never wrong. So all part of the programme. Good luck when you get to it and enjoy the wedding!
Yay congratulations! I'm only a couple of runs ahead of you. Those first 5-8 minutes I always find a bit of a struggle but somehow it gets better as the run progresses. Keep focused and keep strong. Nearly there.
Thank you - it feels good to have reached this particular milestone - I'm aiming over the next few weeks to work on pace as well as stamina - whilst not obsessed with hitting the 5k mark would like to see that it is within reach by the time I graduate - not sure that's the case at the moment.
Thank you - although to be fair my face was more Magenta in colour immediately after I finished.
Well done you, I remember clearly Mr Smooth telling me I could increase my pace if I wanted for the last minute. My answer was unprintable! Just doing the 25 mins seemed enough. Isn't it great, when you run for this length of time, it's a heck of an achievement as so few people can actually do it.
Thanks, it's must be a sign of how far I've come that I'm now starting to think about what I do after the end of week 9, I may be counting my chickens but hopefully that's only a few (three) weeks off.
