W7 R3. Treacle Running

I had hoped at this point ( the 3rd run of week 7), that I might feel a little more as if I was being transported on cushions of air for my 25 minutes.

Instead, my last run of the week, felt rather more like trudging through treacle, not that I have ever tried this!

I made it though and my abiding thought is that the program works. Seven weeks ago I could only imagine that I would have achieved four 25 minute runs.

If I continue to keep up my part of the deal, sticking to the training and drawing on the support of this forum, Couch to 5K will not let me down.

Roll on week 8!

What a great phrase “treacle running” is. I shall have to remember that 😆.

Most people have shared your experience of a run like this during their C25k. It is puzzling when the legs don’t quite come up with the goods but they manage to complete the run somehow.

Keep going. You are nearly there now 😊.

I also want to add that make sure you are keeping up your fluid intake, especially as the weather gets warmer. Poor hydration leads to heavy legs.

Well done.

What is your hydration like?

As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

First of all, well done for completing your run! 🎉🎉 It's so tough when you're just not feeling it, we all have some of those runs, but you pushed through and completed it 👏👏👏

Maybe try increasing your hydration? It can make such a difference, especially with the weather warming up. These longer runs are also more challenging on our legs but they're also how we build up strength 💪

Good luck for your next run! 👣👣
