Not sure where I will get it from...Not sure when I'll get a chance to go out again as my back has bothered me today...Might rest up til Tuesday and maybe then I'll be a bit happier with myself...

Definitely rest up if you're getting niggles which hint at real problems - and keep coming and posting here for motivation! And if you need a 'gentle nudge' on Tuesday, just say so and we'll nudge ;)

Have a good rest, maybe a hot bath and some stretching to ease that back, a quick look back at how far you've come and what a brilliant thing you are doing. Should do the trick but as Rainbow says, we can always give you a little nudge on Tuesday (and we'll be ready with the hugs and applause when you get back) 😊

Motivation is in scarce supply for some of our chums this last week or so... maybe it is hiding from the pesky lurgy monsters!

Rest that back... lots of warm baths, and gentle exercise... :) As the others suggest, we can help you with a gentle push, but only, if the back feels better. :)

My post IC runs are being blighted again too..by freezing fog!!! :)

But, we will all get there... see you Tuesday maybe ? :)

Definitely sounds like you need a couple of rest days. It won't set you back, but will help you feel fit enough to run without the niggles.

Look forward to seeing your post when you are back out there having a run- maybe Tuesday.

Take a few days rest and pamper yourself. Then start slow and steady. Stick with the programme and leave any further long runs until after graduation.

You can do this, we await your next post 😀🏃🏻‍♀️

Lol, I don't plan on any more just yet...I knew I wasn't ready before park run in running mode so I just jogged a bit walked a bit and so on and kept the walk brisk. It's given me a base time now so something to improve on in the future. I had to do it , it was the inaugural parkrun in my town. Soft start, no advertising and 330 turned up...Holy moly. .

I think what hit me in a slump were the photos I saw afterwards which really depressed me... think I'll stick to the cover of darkness and solitude

definitely take today off though tomorrow, if you need it, I'll definitely put my size 6 silver and purple running shoes against your backside and push you out the door ;)

Yip, take a rest. You did do a Parkrun on Saturday which is a long way when you haven't completed the whole C25K yet.

So pamper yourself and get back out tomorrow, and ease back into the course.

I walked most of it to be fair haha

You still completed it - also Parkrun (another name that doesn't do what it says on the tin) is for walkers, joggers, runners etc. All creatures moving.

My doc said to go swimming, not jogging. Less pressure on joints.

I was putting on my sock after a swim...😂😂😂😂

It's dangerous this exercise malarky

Your doc is forgetting that our bones are strengthened by weight bearing exercise, it's not either/or.

A well rounded fitness programme is best of course. Reading this forum makes it very clear that people add other activities to C25K, and C25K to other activities, along with dietary changes especially if weight loss is appropriate - and arguably C25K teaches a safe approach generally. One you enjoy and will keep up is better than one that looks perfect and doesn't happen.

I was responding, I thought to someone who had a joint or muscle injury sorry.

If you believed your GP was completely right, I reckon you'd not still be reading this forum, let alone implying to other people that they should give up, you'd be on something like the swimming.org forums!

If you want to give it C25K a go but feel a bit nervous, it has got to be one of the safest possible ways to try running and there is loads of support here whether you are the next Mo Farah or you have some physical or emotional or practical challenges to take into account.

Yes, rest a while MotherPip until your back feels better. You've done so well so far 👏👏

Rest is fine, especially if you're not 100%. As long as a few days' rest doesn't turn into a few weeks then you're all good. Both you and us wouldn't let that happen anyway so enjoy your couple of days resting up and you'll be back out there in a few days :)
