8 minutes run?! V proud of myself. I was supposed to go yesterday but didn't. No excuse, I was just really lazy for the whole day! So I sorted myself out today and off I went. The first 8 minutes was a pleasure. I ran most of it at a pretty slow pace, breathing was good and then for the last minute I pretended I was Mo Farah. Gasping by the end of it but it felt good. Big smile so I cracked on with the walk. I had a very quick stretch just to loosen my calves then off I went again. Found it a bit harder on the second one - breathing was a little tougher but nothing I couldn't handle. Saw I had 30 seconds left and run as hard as I could to try and get to the gate at the end of the farm track. It's amazing how much an optimistic attitude can bring you! Bring on Saturday's run. Something that would have terrified me 5 weeks ago but I really think I can do it...

Off to my hot yoga now which I find really helps with strength, tone and flexibility. I really think they supplement each other. Happy running everyone!

I am intrigued by hot yoga, never tried it but may do if it's considered good for runners.  Good job on W5R2, I am doing mine tomorrow I think.  You'll do fine for run 3 , stay positive!

I love it! I've been going for about a year now and can really notice a difference in my strength and flexibility. The 37deg heat means you can stretch further, when you come out you feel so chilled and strong at the same time, it's pretty amazing. I could barely get through a session at the beginning but now I can do it all and push myself further each time. As far as being good for runners - I think it's good for everyone. Building up core strength and muscle can never be a bad thing. I also enjoy the holistic side. Does hotpod do anything near you? hotpodyoga.com/uk/ Enjoy run two!

Good for you!  I'm on Week 4, terrified of next week.  We can do this!

Seriously, no need to be terrified. Go at your own pace, nice and easy and it will be fine :)

Don't be terrified - it really isn't as bad as you think. Slow and steady!
