It was a dark and rainy Xmas Eve. Not much was stirring only me, a head torch and Rico. Needed to go out early today to get my run in before picking up the Turkey. What a run walk it was. Very slow 16minute first mile. Then Rico spotted a deer and took off, I upped my pace and carried on running my route whistling to recall Rico as I went. He took the shortcut ie one side of a triangle while I did the other two. He was barking as he ran but all went quiet. I kept whistling and he appeared over the hill in the distance looking very pleased to see me (and to get his recall treat). After that he seemed quite happy to run with me and I increased the pace a bit. His PB for 1 mile is now 10minutes 18 seconds. Total today 4.55k in 38 mins including warm up, warm down and sniff stops.
The deer got away, I got the Turkey and now we're ready for the days preparations.
Hope Santa brings you everything you want
Merry Xmas to one and all.

I would love to be able to run with my dogs, but Pugs aren't designed very well for running, more like trotting and stopping every 5 seconds for a sniff and general faffidge . I wouldn't swap them for the world though
Hope Mrs GF is okay. Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones xxx
Good effort Rico and GF. Turkey should have taken training tips from the Deer!
I had one dog on the lead this morning and the sniff stops were accompanied by a very loud lady from Runkeeper telling me 'activity paused' or 'activity started'. Need to switch her off before next time!
