Run Walk Rico

Run Walk Rico

Had a great Run Walk with Rico this morning. The ground was frosty and the sun was coming up. No pace settings, no times in mind just run when I wanted and walk when I wanted. Rico had the odd diversion chasing deer and racing pheasants which gave me some down time. It was beautiful this morning. Just loved it. 7k in an hour overall. Now if I can just sort my calf out all will be right with the world.

Good Luck in your park runs and runs this weekend

  • Looks beautiful and I'm sure Rico also enjoyed it.

  • Yes he's now snuggled down in a blanket dreaming of pheasants

  • Oh that looks so lovely. What a great place for a run.

  • It was superb today Epic Mum. just the best feeling to be out running surrounded by nature

  • Nice photo GF. Good to see Rico enjoying his runs with you :)

Happy running GF and Rico :)

  • Thanks Zev. Yes he had a great time this morning

  • Your calf is probably indicative of running a bit too hard too much. Your training and race will have caused it and now you may need a wind down period

My left calf is making itself known but it seems ok on rest day

  • Yes I'm nursing it so only slow running for this week

  • Lovely photo G , happy times with Rico.

Yes , time to take it down a notch now , no pressure, just nice slow steady run/walks .

What are you doing for your calf ? xxx

  • I think it is my tendons where they join the ankle so ibuprofen gel and a bit of RICE

  • Sounds like a great run and love the pictures!! That sky is amazing! (how do you put your picci's as a collage???? is it an app?) It's lovely to just go out and enjoy running isn't it without pressure!! What it's all about. hope your calf improves soon. Be careful. Don't get on that injury couch.

  • Thanks Lou, I use microsoft powerpoint for collage then save as jpeg.

  • Will try that thanks GF!!!

  • Lovely picture! Isn't it great the sights you see through running and In my case I would have missed otherwise!

  • Absolutely pot58 I woul have still been snoozing if it wasn't for Rico and running

  • great pic ,looks amazing :D i find chasing pheasants oh and pigeons with my car very effective lol

  • Lol Rob. The pigeons certainly seem to be made of feathers and little else ;-)

  • i know ,thousands of feathers everywhere lol

  • What a beautiful time/place for a run! My family have just got a new dog and I haven't taken him out for a run yet. He's very good walking on and off lead but he's a bit older and I'm not sure how good he is at running (not that I'm very fast to be fair!) Our last dog was very fast right into his old age and loved going for long runs!

  • Ours is 4 this year and he doesn't keep up when I run fast but runs quicker than I can after the wildlife ;-) I'm lucky as I have him off the lead when running

  • Beautiful pics, and Rico looks pretty good too...

  • Thanks JJ

  • What a lovely start to the day.. :) xx

  • The best really

  • Oh just lovely, I bet you're enjoying just running for the joy of it after all your training. Enjoy it while you can, I bet it won't be long before you're in training for another race....xx

  • Going to let my calf recover before I do more ;-)
