Week 5, Run 3 - I did it! Crikey!

Thanks for the replies to my post yesterday which really helped me. I was 50 this year, am at least 2 stone overweight and have never done any regular exercise. Can't believe I've just ran for 20 minutes! As suggested I ran slowly and didn't look at the minutes ticking down. It was nowhere near as bad as I thought. Sounds a bit daft but I feel like a different person!!

I imagine that you are a different person in a way. You've gained confidence in yourself, you probably feel better about yourself, you probably feel a lot fitter and more awake.

C25K is wonderful, listen to Laura, trust Laura, and all will be well :)

Enjoy your runs :)

I think it's fair to say that we can turn into different people. Running, getting fitter and fitter, losing weight. Becoming more confident with the fitness and changing shape. The more you see yourself morphing before your eyes - almost into someone else - the more you want to carry on. You start cleaning up your act, eating better, drinking less, packing up the fags. It's all do-able, all in our own hands. I was 57 this week and I honestly feel fitter than I ever have

Good luck with your remaining runs. Take it steadily and carefully. Slow is good! Just take your time and savour this magic time. It might not seem it sometimes on these dark, wintry days but when you look back on it you will remember it with fondness as it was the start of a new life. Potentially, that is. You have to stick at it of course
