Technically my journey ends tonight, took up C25K as a result of a New Year Resolution set by a friend to run a Race for Life in 2013. So tonight in the twilight (I think that means dark) in Edinburgh I hope to finally complete my goal. I know that I can do it but I must confess I have not run for 3 weeks since I did my last 5K as I have had a twinge in my Achilles/heel/ankle not sure what and have tried to rest as a result - on the basis if something is going to go wrong at least I want to happen during the run and not before. No going back.
Despite everything I am dreading it and cannot wait for it to be over, not sure whether it is because it is THE ONE, I run it in memory of my Mum who died nearly 11 years ago of cancer and all the emotional baggage that I still carry with me because of this.
New goals may need to be set tomorrow!
Thanks to everyone for their support and posts on this forum, it is truly amazing.

Lovely post and all my best wishes to you for tonight. I'll be doing my local 'run for life' next year in memory of my lovely mum too . I hope that lovely memories of your mum help you through you run. She would be so proud of you for just doing your best Good luck and let us know how you get on
Thanks for message actually had a great time, very different type of course - hard up hill section for about 1.5km at start but them down hill all the way back. Lots of pink and glow sticks because of the dark - am really pleased we did the twilight one and not a summer daylight one. Helped by shopping in Edinburgh today!!
Thanks for message - not sure if I can say I loved the course - first 1.5km or so uphill proved a struggle for me but loved the downhill back to the end - felt like I was freewheeling. Based in Dumfries so not too easy to get up to Edinburgh for a 9am parkrun - but we are now thinking of doing the BUPA winter run in Edinburgh.
All the best and have a great run. I to took up running in the memory of my mum. It's makes it emotional but such a feeling of achievement. I am sure she would of been so proud that you entered, so the time will be a bonus. Looking forward to hearing your next goal.
Thanks for the message, we are thinking of doing the course in daylight in January - not sure if that is such a good idea as the uphill almost from the start line was a struggle - at least I could not see it last night apart from the twinkling lights and glow sticks everyone was wearing or carrying. I need to find some hills to practice a bit more. We are thinking of doing BUPA Winter run which I think is the same course.
