Anyone else got covid?

Just that - I've been isolating since January 1st (yay - happy new year 😫). Fully vaccinated & feeling not too bad, apart from the fatigue & the swimmy head. And as for running, I can't even... All going well I should be back at work on Wednesday, a week late. Just wondered how everyone else was doing? Also - I've entered the Vitality London virtual 10k again, so I hope I can shake this off soon!

Yes, tested positive last Tuesday so day 5 of isolation today. Hoping for a negative lateral flow tomorrow 🙏. Luckily I don't have any symptoms (maybe very slightly sniffy but no more). I've carried on running on my treadmill.

Me too! Hopefully negative tomorrow & Tuesday then I'm free! Well done for continuing to run - even walking upstairs is giving me a spinny head just now.

I think I have been lucky with it ! My husband is 2 days ahead of me and his day 6 test yesterday was still positive, although a very faint line now.

Fingers crossed!

Oh poor you! Glad that the vaccine seems to be protecting you from the worst effects. Sounds like time for a bit of a snuggle down!

I know, I consider myself lucky to be getting off fairly lightly symptom-wise. It's sobering to think just how bad it could get without a vaccine.

Got Covid at Christmas. Had family around on Christmas Day and out of 12, 8 got Covid. Good news is that nobody was ill including my 93 year old mum. Been for a couple of runs and not noticed any problems except for a sore calf. Hope you are back to your best soon

Thanks! Glad to hear you've all managed to get through it fairly unscathed.

We hosted Xmas dinner for 10 and 2 days later my sis-in-law tested positive. We all did LFTs morning of 25th to be on the safe side and all of us were negative. For the next week we all did LFTs but no-one else tested positive - including her husband! We had a ventilator running and a window open the whole time but even so - feels like a lucky escape! She said she felt like she had a bad cold but it only lasted 3days. Thanks goodness we were all boosted!!!!

Hope you are back out running again soon Panda. 🤗

It's so weird, isn't it? We were similar - 3 households went out for lunch on new year's day, all negative tests beforehand & no symptoms. I even had a run later on in the evening & felt absolutely fine. However by about 10pm Mr. PC & I had a cough, fever, etc. & we both tested positive the next morning. Luckily both sets of elderly parents who were out with us are all ok - but who knows who else we could've infected?

Touch wood, I've avoided The Lurgy so far. I don't doubt I'll get some form of it at some point.

(Unless the mystery "cold" I had in February 2020 was some form of it.)

Fingers crossed - it could be very much worse I know, but it's still pretty unpleasant, so good luck!

Sorry to hear that PandaCory - hope you’re feeling much better soon!

Thanks - seems to be gradually easing off, fortunately.

I tested positive on 30th December, 2 days after my granddaughter (asymptomatic, but did a test because she was supposed to be going to a party) despite us all testing negative on Boxing Day when we got together. Had a runny nose and a tickly throat for 4 days, then it just went. Unfortunately I didn’t test negative until day 10 even though I felt fine. 10 days of being indoors rather impacted on my 5k time yesterday though!

Similar for me - this is day 9 & I'm still positive. Goodness knows how long it's going to take me to get my running mojo back after this!

Still positive for me on day 6, although only a faint line now. So 30 minute treadmill run for me. Hopefully tomorrow will be negative So frustrating !!

Well done for getting on the treadmill - I have a static bike but am in no way inclined to go near it yet!

I didn't start running until 10 days after coming out of isolation on Christmas Eve. I wasn't that bad apart from the first 4 or 5 days but it took a while to feel "normal" again. I walked for a week and now I am at 4K running and back on 5K Saturday and then consolidating a bit before gradually getting back to 10K. Everyone is different so do what's best for you.

Yes, I'm just going to take it slowly. My running group starts again on Wednesday and I've already cancelled as today is the first day where I've felt halfway normal. I might have a go tomorrow, but will be very cautious.
