Hi Ju-Ju . Can you sign me up please. I have been doing your 10 k anyway as I was not sure I could do it. Next week is my 9k and then I have just the 10 k after that which fingers crossed will be the week starting the 23rd.
I intend to have a weeks rest before I start the official 10 k so would be starting on the 30th April, one week late, would that be OK??
Tired & stiff as to be expected but enjoying it and will enjoy starting again (-:
Hi Dindy, yes that sounds like a good plan and of course thatβs OK. The plan is rolling so the idea is you can follow, pick up bits or use the weekly posts to update on progress and get support etc. Having the weekly check in gives some structure and ideally keeps people on track for where they are. Rest your tired muscles and get the legs fresh for your next run π
Hi Juju. Iβm going to give your plan a go. Iβm not sure that Iβm ready for it but Iβll give it a go. Iβve just completed C25K and did a parkrun a week ago. I took the parkrun steady and I could have carried on running but Iβm not sure I would have done so well if I hadnβt had my neighbour as a running buddy. At the moment I feel I need a plan but is this just C25K withdrawal π.
Some people consolidate the 5k distance, others need structure. When I finished C25k I really needed to keep going to 10k etc, we are all different. So if you would like to do it thatβs absolutely great and I will add you on π
Oh, please sign me up! I need a new challenge. At the moment I seriously doubt I could ever run more than 6k, but wonβt find out unless I try, right?!
Iβm in Matlock on biking weekend and decided to do 3k at a local park this afternoon with my brother. Just a gentle jog, no niggles with the hamstring thank goodness.
Iβll try a 5k on Tues then take it from there π
I didnβt think I would ever be able to run for 30 minutes when I started C25k, I laughed when I heard Laura say that. However I have now run 3 marathons..... itβs about the mental steps more than the physical tbh. Come on the journey with us and we will help you get there π
Hi JuJu. Iβd like to give it a try. I rashly signed up for an all womenβs 10K in Dublin on 3rd June. Itβs a major event so couldnβt resist and thought it would give me an incentive after C25K. Bit too soon for such an increase in distance but hey. I unofficially started your programme 2 days ago and planning a Park Run tomorrow.
I'm going to give it a try. It will work out perfectly with the last run ending on my race day. Thankfully I signed up for a 10k walk/run for my first ever race. There isn't pressure for me to have to run the whole thing. But I will try my best and see how it goes! Thank you for doing this!!
Me too please! Yes, really this time. Finally got myself back to 5k and, so long as I do it on the treadmill rather than outside, my hip doesn't complain (outside is a different story, I really don't understand why). I will probably do it have to base progress on increasing times (using my last outdoor pace to calculate the distance) as my secondhand treadmill doesn't seem very accurate. Boredom is likely to be a big challenge I think
Not confident my hip will make it to 10K in 8 weeks, but delighted to at least be in a position to start at long last. Excited to get started. Thanks for this ju-ju-
Brilliant. Have you seen a physio for your hip? Strengthening exercises? Music or podcasts for boredom? You could always do each week twice as lots of people do?
Was hoping to avoid cost of physio but it has been rather a long time now so i may have to consider that ... I've downloaded a stack of desert island discs podcasts in readiness
Hi - Iβd like to sign up too please. Graduated to 5k in March and really miss the structure of a plan. Iβve done a few more 5ks since then but Iβm not really built for speed and it hurts my knees if I try to go too much faster so thought Iβd try and build on endurance and try and go further instead!
To keep me at it I have also invested in a running watch so that my conscience will also nag me to get out there and use it to justify the extravagance!!
I am due to graduate C25K on Saturday (21st). What shall I do next? Consolidate? Iβm still at 35 mins 5k. Shall I target 30 min 5k first or can I go straight into 10k plan?
Entirely up to you.... there are lots of options, have a read of the stuff on here, have a think and use us to help you get there. What would you like to achieve?
Iβll give it a go. Iβm dubious about ever being able to do 10k as 5k nearly kills me. However, I thought Iβd never do a 5k 8 weeks ago so Iβll see what happens. Think Iβll sign up for the local 10k run which is in September. Good timing I reckon. Keep with me ju-ju! ππ½
Iβd like to try so please add me to the list. Have done 10ks in the past and got my 5k down to a pb of about 28 mins a year ago, but not run at all for about a year. Look forward to getting back into a routine. Thanks
Yes please - sign me up. I was sort of trying to do the last one but things (e.g. the weather) kept getting in the way I optimistically signed up for a 10k race which is scarily close now. I think I'll be walking some of this one but it would be good to be ready for the next one . . .
Hi Ju-Ju, Can you sign me up please. I competed C25K last year but didn't run over the winter. I'm now back up to 5k and planning my first Park run this week end. I need a challenge to keep me going.
Hi ju-ju, please sign me up, I completed the run double C25K in May last year and have just about managed to keep it up since although have completely lost my mo Jo and struggling to get out, has taken me nearly 2 weeks to complete their 5 to 10 week one so needing some help, I'm sure this is where I'll find it, was a quiet watcher of the C25k site but the stories and responses inspired me all the same, just need realistic goals and not keep thinking back to what I could do 30 years ago.
Hi Ju-Ju, can you sign me up please. I finished C25K end of last year then lost my fitness over winter, Iβm back up to running for 30 mins now so want to progress to 10K so sounds like your program is my next step! Thanks so much, Nic
Please sign me up. Iβve just completed the C25K and I need something to aim for and to keep me going... a new challenge. Iβm still slow but at mo if I keep on through the cool down I can get to 5k distance. Hopefully I can work with you n the group to the 10k.
Hello Ju-Ju, could I join please? Finished C25K at the end of March but didnβt get to 5K. Not done a lot of running since due to holidays, visitors and a horrible cold, but managed 5K yesterday, mainly running apart from the very wet muddy parts I had to walk (wade) through. Took me over 50 minutes though! Hopefully Iβll be ok to get to 10K with some structure to motivate me to get out and running regularly! Thank you, Helen x
Hi Ju-Ju, Please add me to your list. I completed C25K three weeks ago and would like to keep improving. Do you have an overview of your plan I can look at and see how it's structured??
Yes please sign me up ju-ju. Have been struggling since graduating the c25k so hopefully this will give me focus as I try to push on! Thanks - feeling really positive all of a sudden!
Just spotted your plan and would like to sign up please have been in the doldrums since graduating although still running but not regularly so not improving went back to full-time job last October and finding it hard to carve out time so I hope that this will give me inspiration to achieve 10k
Hi Ju-Ju, can I start with you a day late? I did my 7th park run today, the second time I've run the whole thing. A C25K graduate who only started in Jan....so amazed at how it's been. I don't know if I will get to 10k but I'd like to see what happens.....Thanks!
Hi when are you starting the next one as id like to start at the same point as everyone rather than play catch up? I prefer a structured plan. Thank u x
Hi ju-ju, can you add me to the latest 10k plan please? Did my 1st 5k without any walking earlier this month, and a few more since. Now working on getting a bit more speed with intervals, and distance. Max last week 4.25 miles. Aiming for 4.5 or 4.75 miles today. Thanks!
I start the next one on the 15th of June but you are welcome to join anytime.....
Hi Ju-ju, can I ask a silly question. When you say itβs a rolling plan does that mean I can join now? I graduated C25K last month and have now run 30 mins a few times and would like the structure to help me run further. Where would I find the plan or do you send it to us? As you can tell Iβm a new user of social media as well as a new runner...
Of course... I am soooooo sorry for my tardy response. I will add you on the list for the 15th of June, or you can pick up now. I am about to post todays.
Hi, is this plan still rolling, please? Iβd like to follow a proper routine (fitting around my erratic household, so a club isnβt possible!) and have read such good things!
