Hello Everyone. Today is parkrun day, a free 5K event which takes place every Saturday morning all around the world. It is for everyone, slow, fast, able, disabled, big, small and everyone in between. Oh and don't forget about the super Mum's and Dad's who push their babies in buggies. You can walk, jog, run, run/walk, it's not a race, just a run in the park and loads of us here on Bridge to 10K do it religiously every Saturday morning.
Some of us may not be able to do a parkrun at the moment so until parkrun returns fully for everyone some of us will continue to take part on our own in a Virtual parkrun every Saturday morning called a (not)parkrun. Or if you are away on Holidays, prefer to run on your own, or do not have a parkrun close by you a (not)parkrun is perfect, please feel free to join in. Please post a little run report after your parkrun or (not)parkrun and let everyone know how you got on. The little run report can be done over a post parkrun coffee and treat/cake. (parkrun is all about the after run coffee and cake, and meeting friends old and new).
If you are a new graduate and would like to start, all you have to do is run, walk or jog at a parkrun or a 5K run/jog/walk (not)parkrun anytime today or tomorrow and write a little run report under this post. It's like a little community and it is good fun, sets you up nicely for the weekend. If you want to you can register on the parkrun website and you can log your 5K (not)parkrun. In fact you can log any 5K done during the week as a (not)parkrun.
For anyone whom has not done a real parkrun yet and if it is available to you, give it a try. It is the most wonderful community event. Saturday mornings will never be the same again.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you who ran in real proper parkruns and (not)parkruns. Happy running and have a lovely weekend.

Morning runners and walkers. 😀 Solo one for me today. I need to get home to get ready for going to London at lunchtime for tomorrow’s Winter Run. Exciting times (it includes running buddies, say no more)!
So a hasty post on here in the car before I leave to say that I did my closest PR today, Clevedon Salthouse Fields. Just a delightful relaxed trot in a time of just over 40 minutes. No official time yet, but I was right at the back of a hefty crowd. A beautiful running day, and I hope you all had good ones too, whatever you did. ❤️
My experience over the last couple of parkruns has shown there's no point worrying about or planning your finish time! At my regular run the big queue at the start, often adds on about a minute anyway. Due to a hip niggle I've been trying to walk a bit. Last week I walked for a minute at the halfway point and came in at around 38 mins. This week I walked several times (partly to accompany and encourage a small child with a rather competitive dad) and came in at 34 mins. I'm a happy bunny! 😊
Morning volunteers and runners/walkers, so we went to Lister Park parkrun Bradford and it was tu tu day. One I've run a few times I was the 33 minutes pacer this morning and came in at 32.25 a bit quick but I've never ran in a tu tu before 😆 🤣 and I ran in shorts so must be warming up. Well done everyone.
My friend Luis and I went to Roundshaw Downs today. The Run Director said it was the worst its been this year. It was quite muddy and plenty of puddles, but manageable compared to Bethlem 🤣
9 left to do in London. Now down to single digits 💪
I organised a Food Bank Run at Southsea parkrun today and we collected lots of food for our local food bank. The running community helping the local community.❤️. Of course I also wore a tutu! Oldgirlruns and ED Emma helped me gather the donations and get it to the car.
So proud that our runners came up trumps and amassed loads of food, and toiletries .
Thanks TailChaser . February is a lean month for food banks, so it’s good to top up their stores.
If anyone wants to join this initiative, it can involve just two or three runners dropping things off on their run, or running clubs doing it en masse. We wanted to do it at parkrun for those who aren’t club members and it emphasises that we are part of the community. I will be dropping it all off on Tuesday.
Good afternoon Damien and all other parkruners, I. ran at Springburn parkrun in a time of 32:04, I am a bit annoyed at myself because I walked for about 4 seconds up a short hill on the course, if I had kept running my time would have been sub 32 minutes, nevertheless I still got a plus 60% age grade of 62:63%, lovely morning with sunshine and a temperature of 7C.
Well done AlMorr don’t worry about walking some it. It probably means you were running faster than normal beforehand. An age grade of 62.63% is excellent. 👏
Good afternoon Damien and all. We’re in London ahead of tomorrow’s Winter 10k. We thought we’d get our V in whilst we were here, so off we went to Victoria Dock this morning. Never ones to do things the easy way, we ran there from Greenwich as part of a 2.5 hour training run. A Victoria sandwich you could say… Only J and Z to get now!
Very flat, 3 and a bit loops. Great views when you head back but I think just the once is enough.
Now absolutely shattered as we did a HM in total. Day isn’t over yet though: still to meet up with other HUers later. Just refuelled on pie and mash and then I we’ll have a lie down for a bit 😴
Very well done to you both. Pie and Mash, yum 😋. Enjoy your meet up later and have a great run tomorrow. I have just a Y and a J to get to complete my alphabet. Going to make a visit perhaps to York later in the year.
Beautiful spring morning today. Sun was shining and it was a bit windy but not too bad. My running plan today was for an easy pace run so I decided to bring my hairy daughter with me (Cocker Spaniel). I got to my local parkrun a bit early so as Ruby could make her way around the park sniffing and doing her morning business. There was a good little crowd of 133 runners and walkers taking part and after the briefings we were off. Ruby ran great and stayed by my side making to run feel comfortable, we finished in a time of 30:05 and was in 62nd place. After a couple of chats at the finish line I headed home and spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon in the garden cleaning up branches which I removed last weekend. Relaxing now and watching the Rugby.
I did parkwalker role at my local parkrun today. It was the 10th birthday of the parkrun, so there were lots of people. Biggest numbers I'd ever seen taking part
