Hello everybody. I would like to invite you to the next 10 is the Magic Number 10k plan. Iβve been taking some time to think about how to improve it for you, and also having a family holiday in Crete.... so just to summarise what we will be doing:
8 week plan to get you from 5 to 10k with consolidation weeks as well.
Each week I will be posting a strength exercise that you can do at work, at home, in the supermarket, in the loo..... designed to fit in with life!
A cut out and keep medal at the end.
Print off with the plan on to stick on your fridge.
So, if you are interested I will start on the 2nd of November. Please add your name on the comments as I will be having a list of names on the post to hold you to account!!!
Letβs do this and have a lot of fun too....

Iβve been flying solo since graduating in August and gradually increasing my distance, but Iβve had FOMO about your plan and would like to use it to help me over the finish line! Would that be ok? πββοΈ
Please sign me up JuJu, unfortunately I have an ankle sprain after misjudging a kerb running in the dark, so I may be a very late starter on your plan, but your posts always inspire and will serve as a reminder to get back to running as soon as I am fit, best wishes Richroux
Thank you Dexy π you have done so brilliantly and I have my Santa run next month thanks to your suggestion and Iβm really looking forward to it π π»
Ours is 9 December so a little bit closer to the big day. We are also thinking of doing the Christmas Day parkrun ( once Iβve got the turkey in the oven). What has happened to me? π π»π€Ά
Great idea to include strength exercises Ju ju π. Unfortunately I am still working up to 5k after injury and moving house but looking forward to joining you soon! Best of luck to everyone.
Great idea to include strengthening exercises indeed! Thank you, Ju-Ju! Even if I have already reached the 10K, I haven't been able to run the 10K more than 3 times since, so I'm going to follow the plan again just to get a bit of motivation and get back to some level of fitness if my body follows.
I'm not sure the 10K becomes par as I haven't been able to run more than 6 or 7 kms since I last ran 10k in May! So, we'll see. Let's hope I'll be as good this time as the first time
Please sign up Beachcomber66. Have been following the plan out of sync with the October group and have done two 8ks in the last two weeks. Having an enforced four day rest so hopefully fit and ready to go next week π
Hi JuJu, I just finished C25K three weeks ago and have continued to repeat week 9. I am going to sign up for your plan - it might be too early for me but lets wait and see!
Not able to tell when you graduated, however in the past people have adapted the plan to be increases to your base time rather than distance. So for example for your long run each week:
Thanks Ju-ju, i'll increase the time i'm running for now like you suggested. Maybe i'll be ready for the 10k challenge the next time it comes around. I graduated in March, over the summer i have been doing 4k trails which i've grown to love. I'll have to go back to pavement soon now its getting darker, so i suppose it will be a good time to increase my distance. Bye for now.
If you donβt mind adding me, please, at the rate Iβm going I might just about finish week ten at the same time as this next round, as I get some weeks where I only get 2 done ππ
Will you be posting the plan? I have a problem with my foot at the the moment so need to get that sorted but I'd like to give this a try - I may need to start 1 or 2 weeks behind everyone else but I think I need a structure to my running and this could be just the thing I'm looking for!
OK Ju-ju, add me on to your list. I have to confess I will have only just finished w8 of c25k by November 2nd but I'm booked in a 5k race on Nov 4th so have been doing a bit more than the app says as I'm nowhere near the distance yet although I did do a very very slow park run last week. My worry is my pace but I've been told on the forum many times to build distance before speed so that's what I'm doing. Your program will help as I've found the structure of having a plan really makes a difference
Great to have you, and no you need not worry about pace. However I suggest using the short run as an interval session which will help your pace and is also really good fun ππ₯
Hi. Sounds good! I've been following yr plan and have just finished wk 3 this week. Plan is stuck on the fridge. So o will follow yr posts and videos (strengthening sounds good) but not sure if I should join? Deals1. Thanks
Yes please! Still trying to run 3 times a week but with hols/life/darkness etc struggling a bit. Think some structure & someone to crack the whip might help! Enjoy Crete. Thanks.
Please count me in. I finished C25k about a month ago and have been trying to keep up the runs but have been finding excuses lately so need this to spur me on.
Hi ju-ju. Please sign me up- Iβve been running around 5k two - three times a week for a couple of years but really feel I need a new challenge- this sounds just the job- many thanks!
Yep, itβs time to start on the 5-10K road....! Been doing 5k consolidation runs since graduating and just done my 2nd ever competitive 5k tonight and got a 30:46 PB....
...my head is finally ready to embark on the 10K journey!!
Its a good idea to get to 5k first as the first week is a 5k and a 5.5k run. I will be doing another in the new year so you could build up and join then?
Yes please...being on the plan will really help with autumn/ winter motivation and I like the sound of extra consolidations and exercises.I'm in.Thanks.
Please juju can you put my name on your list. I shall start it on the 3rd nov Saturday as Iβm at work Thursday and Friday. However Iβm going to redo this 10k training. So wish me luck and happy running to us all!ππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈππ
Please add me ju-ju- I'm doing C25K for the second time and although I have only just done W8 I'm already running 5K more easily than the first time. I'm not 100% sure I want to run 10K but there's only one way to find out!
Hi Ju-ju, please add me to the plan. I graduated at the start of July, finally managed 5k in August and have been consolidating that since. I think I need some structure to keep me motivated through the winter. Thanks
Hi again JuJu do you post the plan on this forum. Perfect for me as I completed 5k earlier this year and have kept up running on my own ever since with a couple of Park runs. Have crept up to one 8k which surprised me but would love the support - and a plan! Thank you
Had to have nearly a year off because of injury but completed C25K for a second time in June. Like you, need some structure & found your 10 is the magic number plan on my first visit to the forum for a loooonnnnngggg time!
Have decided to join you, a bit late though. Did the intervals today - will see how it goes.
Hi! There will be a new 10 is the Magic Number starting next Friday (Jan 11th) - keep an eye out for it, or for email notifications of her posts, follow ju-ju-
