She has had one

ATRIAL FIBRILLATION
It’s just that I suffered very badly with iron deficiency resulting in
blood
transfusion
and iron infusion, then put on iron tablets a good few years ago. However my Gp in his infinite wisdom looked at last set of bloods and said bloods ok and stopped them.

A bit confused
My husband was diagnosed 4 years ago with Cirrhosis and has been in and out of two different hospitals but the only thing anyone has spoken to us about is low haemoglobin resulting in a
blood
transfusion
and ensuring his albumen is replaced during Ascites drains. Thank you.

Coarse Liver on Ultrasound scan
I had a
blood
transfusion
in 1983. I did a home Hep C test which has come back negative. I don't smoke, I haven't drunk alcohol in 18 years, I am not overweight and I am a vegetarian with a healthy diet. Thus has completely thrown me! I'm nearly 50 and female.

Low Red Cell Count
Doing a
blood
transfusion
this morning to help the counts and will do third round of chemo next Tuesday. Only real current complaints are fluid retention and general incontinence, but otherwise handling chemo well. Hoping that each of you are having success in your treatments.

'Something detected' on grandads CT scan....
So they said they will have to re do the CT scan and may also need a
blood
transfusion
. Is this a common thing to happen? I thought CT scans were pretty accurate ?

Jevtana
At doctor's appt yesterday, my husband's hemoglobin had decreased to 7.6 and he had to have a
blood
transfusion
. His Alkaline Phosphatase went up again. He will start on Jevtana on June 20th. We are hoping this will do him some good.

Low platelets
As a result, mum has had a
blood
transfusion
and her levels are rising, which is good. However, her platelets are low and reducing. She is on blood thinners for a clot on her lung and wondered if these could effect the platelets?
