Good Morning, I had an ultrasound scan last Monday for suspected gallstones. No gallstones and was told all looked fine. On Wednesday last week the GP called me to say the report had come as a Goldstar report with a possible cancer diagnosis. My liver was described as coarse with multiple areas of increased echotexture and multiple hypoechoic lesions. Highly suspected of? gross hepatic pathologies. I had a blood transfusion in 1983. I did a home Hep C test which has come back negative.
I don't smoke, I haven't drunk alcohol in 18 years, I am not overweight and I am a vegetarian with a healthy diet. Thus has completely thrown me! I'm nearly 50 and female.

I'm not sure but it could be that you liver is showing fibrosis which is common with nash. That health issue does affect people who are not overweight and eat a healthy diet. I was diagnosed with nash about a year ago and the similar to you I was never overweight and ate healthy but still developed this disease. You may need more tests to diagnose your condition as an ultrasound is not the most reliable.
Thank you for your message. I'm sorry about your diagnosis. What is the treatment for NASH? I'm waiting to hear from the Hepatologist. Kind regards Sophy
