What Causes Autoimmune Diseases?
For example, having a family member with lupus or multiple sclerosis (MS) raises your risk of getting these
diseases
. Some families have multiple members affected by different
autoimmune
diseases
. However, genetics alone isn’t enough to cause
autoimmune
disease.

What were your first symptoms?
I have autoimmune thyroid disease, and suspected autoimmune cause for my early menopause, and I'm acutely aware that
autoimmune
diseases
seem to beget
autoimmune
diseases
! I also had a difficult time with my GP so I'd rather not bother them until I have to.

Liver disease, mast cells and antihistamine
I’ve just seen a post on X about mast cells and Covid-19 which mentioned a link with
autoimmune
diseases
of the gut and the use of antihistamines as a treatment.. I wondered if anything was known about
autoimmune
liver
diseases
, mast cells and antihistamines.

Has anyone with Hashimoto or any other autoimmune condition tried low dose naltrexone ( NDL) to regulate autoimmune response?
I have multiple
autoimmune
diseases
, such as Hashimoto,
autoimmune
gastritis and Reynolds. The list is growing. I am already on clean diet and manage my stress as much as I can and need to try something more than that. I have read the LDN research and keen to try.

Article: Why autoimmune disease is more common in women
I thought people might be interested in this article from Nature about why

diseases
are more common in women: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-024-00267-6 "A new explanation for the discrepancy has emerged: a molecular coating typically found on half of a woman’s X chromosomes — but

Is there a link between hemangiomas and Hughes Syndrome.
Hi, I have many
autoimmune
diseases
as well as triple positive APs. Spinal scans have shown five hemangiomas on my spine. Another appeared on my trunk when I were in my teens and was surgically removed. Many smaller one's over the years have appeared on my scalp, face, chest and trunk.
