Pregnancy and t3 only
Hi I am on 40mcg of T3 for underactive thyroid. I live in Scotland but my endocrinologist is in Oxford. I am trying for a baby and my GP raised concerns about me being on T3 if I become pregnant. I am now very nervous. Iv tried to research this and there is so much conflicting information. I do not

Charcot Marie Tooth and autoimmunity
This is very niche! But I am the only person in my family who has an autoimmune disease and while pondering on this today I remembered my dad had Charcot Marie Tooth disease (CMT). CMT itself isn't an autoimmune disease but I found this article. I checked the references but nothing that points to

Medichecks results - early signs of hypothyroidism?
Hi everyone, I've just received my advanced well woman blood results from medichecks and everything was fine apart from elevated TSH. TSH - 4.78 Free T3 - 5.08 Free Thyroxine (T4) - 15.4 The doctor's notes suggested that this can be an early sign that I am developing an underactive thyroid

Low B12 (plus recently medicated for underactive thyroid)
Hello all I’ve had some private bloods done to aid thyroid investigation with my GP (a whole other thread!). I really had to push the GP to listen to me so have lost some confidence with them. The GP didn’t pick up on this low B12 result. Anyway my B12 results are 29 pmol/L and ref range is 37.5

Vitamin recommendations?
Hello all. Just doing some research as alongside an underactive thyroid, my vitamin levels are very low. Does anyone have any tips of particularly good vitamins to take, as I’m sure I will need stronger than a standard multivitamin! Have added my levels for reference. TSH 6.51 (R 0.27-4.2)

Looking for people with experience of lupus affecting the kidneys (lupus nephritis) to review patient materials about a new treatment
Do you have experience of lupus affecting your kidneys (lupus nephritis)? Would you be interested in giving feedback on some patient information for a new lupus nephritis treatment? You don’t need to have had any experience of doing this before, you just need to give your opinion. The company who makes

Early 50s male, healthy till hypothyroidism my first few months experience of treatment
I don't usually share info on the internet, but as a lot of material out there is aimed at women or Americans (I mean no offence to either!) I thought I'd stay my experience so far. Diagnosis, what does it all mean, and treatment/first medications. DIAGNOSIS Late 2022 I saw a nurse as I was taking longer

Ateritis, arthritis... how to make friends and family recognise the difference!
I have just been trying to explain GCA to some former work colleagues and been stumped trying to convincingly make the distinction between arteritis and arthritis (similar pronunciation, even in French 😏) to those not familiar with our condition. Very frustrating when they come back with "Oh, yes, my

Inpatient stay - Overlap Syndrome?
Hello all! So I have posted on here over the past year a few times about my progress with autoimmune disease. So they so far have high suspicion of Lupus/SLE (still), but now my Rheumatologist ordered that I go (next week) to inpatient care at the hospital for a week long evaluation, day and night.

peri menopause
Hi I am 44 and peri menopausal hot flushes, sleepless nights, brain fog on top of my lupus brain fog I am surprised I can remember my own name. Dr does not want to give me HRT due to blood clotting but when I have tried to research lupus and HRT they don’t seem to recommend it. Has anyone had the same

Eczema.
Hi, I was diagnosed with an underactive Thyroid in April 2020. I am currently on 75 mcg of Levothyroxine. In the last couple of months, I have started to devolope patches of eczema. The GP has prescribed me with some steroid cream and I also use Hydromol emollient. However, neither of these products
