There are a few people on here that have taken sertraline , i havnt , but hopefully they will post when they see this & give you advise
If you have been on them a few days & feel these are side effects , contact you GP tommorrow & let them no , they may reduce the dose , tell you to stop taking them or try something different , but you need to ask them
If you can contact them tommorrow you will be able to speak to them hopefully before you have to take any more & they should sort this for you
Try not to panick , this will make you feel worse , & you will get it sorted tommorrow
Let us no how you go on

Hi , I have just started on sertraline aswell and although I hsvnt beeb physically sick . U have had constant panic attacks and feel more on edge than ever. I decided not to take one this evening and talk to my gp 2moro . The advice I have been given so far is that after a few days it will settle but it just whether u can cope with it for that long. Other people have recommended that I shud split the tablets and just take half . But I intend on seeking proper medical advice first .
Keep you chin up there are so many different medications to try I have previously been on fluoxitine and they work for depression but apparently are not as effective on anxiety
Hello,
I used to take setraline but had to change as 200mg caused me troubles sleeping and diahrea. Sertaline can cause gastro problems and its there on the side affects list. Are you taking it directly before or after food? From my experience this caused me issues and had to take a few hours before or after food. I also got heartburn from taking it too close to eating.
Hope this has been of some help. If in doubt call you doctor.
Let us know how you get on with this.

I was prescribed Sertraline for panic disorder when it first came out. I had consant nausea on it, & was prescribed Maxalon to control it. I was more anxious on it, & I got so fed up with it that I stopped taking it, & felt much better.
It is 1 of the most common side effects of sertreline but its normaly nausea not actual vommitting. go bck + c ur GP. i was recently on these 4 6wks, the nausea + upset stomache was 1 thing but my anxiety went through the roof, was tld 2 carry on as these side effects would get better but they jst kept gettin worse until i ended up suicidal of them + the mental hlth team finaly admitted i was very sensitive 2 them. they hav scared the hell out of me takin more antidepressants but i hav had reactions 2 a lot of meds + is on my records about bein sensitive. a lot of people can tolerate them plus all meds hav listed side effects but my experience wiv these was horrific. wen it comes 2 these side effects it depends how bad they r + can u tolerate them, they do normaly were of in the 1st week but obviously u shouldnt b bein sick so u should go bck 2 ur GP. i did cut mine in half so i was jst takin 25mg + was not that bad on this amount but i couldnt tolerate the 50mg even after 6wks. im suposed 2 now start veneflexine + am terrified of them, hav also heard bad things about these but i do need an antidepressant or i cant function, am drivin myself insane wiv this. hope u soon sort this out. wiv kindest regards leeanne.x
P.S i also started 2 panick of these but was in the drs surgery at the time + she told me even though they r licensed 4 panick attacks they can also cause them, should were of in the 1st week. would b worth it if they work i think.
P.S jst realised u ur 1st day on sertreline, dnt take anymore until u speak 2 ur GP
We can tell you our experiences, but don,t be scared off...........Everyone is an individual and each will react differently....but I will add that with antidepressants the first 3/4 weeks you can experience side effects that will soon settle. Stick with the doctors guidance and always explain how you feel..be well..........In the end it may be well worth it !
Go back to your Doctor, there may be an anti depressant that may suit you better.
All the best.
