anxiety worsens when sick

Does anybody have an increase in their anxiety when they get a viral infection or sick in general? I have come down with a viral infection since Saturday and the past 2 days I'm worried that it's something serious.

Yes, I have felt like my anxiety comes on more when I'm sick but I get through it. Remember to relax and do the things you know help you cope with the anxiety. I know it can be hard. Are you taking otc medicine for it? I find that gives me a lil spike in anxiety but doesn't last long.

I took some dayquil.

That could do, if you read the label, it actuals warns of nervousness or anxiety. And generally your body and mind are pooped from fighting germs so you're more vulnerable I feel like.

true. I probably should not have taken dayquil. I will be taking nyquil because that always gives me a good deep sleep

Its a catch 22 because you need medicine to help but also could mess with your anxiety. Just make sure you eat when you take it and can relax for awhile after, might help. I'm glad Nyquil helps you sleep good, sleep is definitely your friend. I'm sorry you been feeling so bad for so long. Thats rough. Have you had any relief?

Absolutely it heightens mine by 50% I hate it a bug cold or virus and I've the worst anxiety ever

Yes always it's weird but mostly when I'm coming down with a cold etc x

Yes, I'm unwell at the minute and my anxiety is through the roof. I'm also finding it hard to determine which symptoms are genuine and which are caused by my anxiety. X

Exactly. That is the tricky part. Some of the symptoms are phantom symptoms.
