Im waiting for an appoitment for c.b.t but its going to be a while,I have had counciling over the phone which hasnt helped much.
Hi yea im in that cbt course and its really good wot u learn and how 2 start takin control. Keep a diary of ur good days and keep a note of wot u was doin at the time of an attack e.g wot triggered it how u felt wot thoughts u had. It can b overcome and ur not alone like i thought i was when i started gettin um. Hope this helps. Rob
Hi Mouley,Thankyou for your help and reply,Thanks also for sayinging your not alone as it feels that way and have felt that way so many times.Good luck with your cbt course.Take care. Helen
Hello Shelley hope your good I'm a fellow sufferer whose been her quite sometime you will get good days bad days I was bad agoraphobic not go out shopping out of the question but I sat one day thinking this cant go on like this there's 2 ways to deal with this the hard way the gentle way the hard way is to jump in feet first and get it over with that's the way I went one Christmas I went to Asda I didn't want to be there but I was the first few minutes were really bad the sweats the fear but the longer it went on the sensations eased I carried on shopping I started to drag it out where as before my shopping was on the Usain bolt speed but I just walked round looking at stuff that was my way it may not suit you or the gentle way walk to the gate walk down the garden return to your home anytime you want but try and do it as many times during the day as you can remember you don't HAVE to do it you want to do it try and go a little further each time just step out and you'll get through it by showing it your in charge the CBT will help because it will show you how to help yourself cos we're the ones who have to deal with this your days will get better and no your not alone we keep an eye out for each other on here I wish you the best and take it easy and go with the flow. Mel
Hi Mel,Thankyou for your reply it gives me something to work towards ie going out bit by bit its haveing the confidence to actually do it but i know i have to try or im not going to get any where.Thankyou for your support. Helen
Hi Shelley I hope you find the confidence but it can be done as I told my cbt councillor I sort of had to surprise myself to do something at the start because when I was bad the more I thought about doing something the less likely I was to do it so you take it easy just try to do something you don't think you can do nothing major you may surprise your self when you've found you've done it the feelings great when you do and move on from there you'll get there all the best a little victory a day drives the anxiety away.
