Hi Mimisings :),

I've just joined this community and saw your question. Sometimes, I get very dizzy. This morning in particular we had a leaky shower and were al in a rush to leave the house. This was stressful in itself. My parents wanted to turn the water off and I felt myself panic at the thought of not being able to bath/shower/wash my hands. (I think I have a little bit of OCD, but I've not been officially diagnosed so I can't say for sure). We had a bit of an arguement about it but we soon made up and found a compromise. I felt dizzy for ages afterwards though. It went along in a sort of dream state and my legs were pretty relucant to carry me. It was like going in slow motion. It took me ages to recover, and I still felt exhausted afterwards. It wasn't nice. Hope you're not suffering too much with it at the moment.

I guess its also worth me mentioning that I also have a medical condition called Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS). I'm one of the luckier ones because I have it mild, but anxiety is one of the things that effects me the most. Its something I've always suffered from, and unfortunately it flares up all my other symptoms, so quite a lot of the time I feel pretty run down. I'm on the Fibroaction community (found AnxietyUK when I was browsing other communities) and I suspected anxiety was linked to this condition. After asking a question about it, I got 13 responses. I have mentioned this in the comment section of the fibro community because I think it will really help some people. I'm glad I found this place.

Hope you're not suffering too much at the mo and hopefully speak soon. :) Take care.

Best wishes, wanderingwallflower xx

Hi,I have had anxiety for a few years and the worse thing about it is the dizziness it really freaks me out,I leave places when I get dizzy and end up in a vicious circle as cbt taught me to face these fears and not run away.

Yes definitely get dizzy - but I wonder if it is a side effect of the medication....

What medication are you taking? I was put on medication and my anxiety worsened...feeling dizzy, sick and in a confused state constantly,it was horrifuc because i was learning to cope before i started on it.Yesterday i got a 2nd opinion from another doctor and he told me that the tablets weren't suiting me,i am in a transition period onto new medication now but think im feeling better already and my friends and family have saud they are noticing an improvement-within a few days! Im just taking diazepam to calm me whilst in the transition period...but am already feeling more "with it"-although not brilliant......but am thinking positive!!!!

Yes, I get dizzy. Not the medication with me as I had it before taking any. I've noticed that when I'm not preoccupied with my heart, anxiety comes back with the dizziness and feeling faint. A new one I have is that I can't move (when I'm in a shop at the counter or cash point) when I stop and want to walk away. Like my legs don't listen to my brain and move.

I felt like that during the really bad times but your mind does start to take back control. Try and get ok in the house and work then on the outside, that's what I'm doing.

Hi, i've just joined this website because its hard for me to believe doctors and disability team i suffer from anxiety. I had dizzy spells for 5 years now.

I use to be scared all the time when going out like am gonna die or faint. I still now get big dizzy spells but less than I use too though, its just for me back and forth, next its mild next its worse. Its just feeling middle of my chest is wrong, when i had my heart checked, everything was fine and blood test came back fine, but still hard to believe that i have anxiety and nothing works, i carry my stress ball everyday and listen to the music, that don't help me neither. When I do have attack i can't walk or stop the bus myself, then if i was on my own then i'm stuck. I feel sick and lightheaded as well. I use to feel dizzy for one hour, now its shortened lately to 20 mins or less, as sometimes my dizzy spell don't go away when i need to get off the bus. I get the blurry vision, when the days i don't get dizzy after all, but i do get this funny feeling when i think its gonna come on, but instead it comes on everytime i go somewhere.

Hope am not alone how i feel as i can't stand it anymore when it comes back and forth. From Susie

PS i wish i can do the things i wanna do but it stops me when i'm feeling ill.

I pray we all get better. We had are grand daughters open house yesterday we were expecting over 200 guest, I thought Lord I'm not going to make it pluse preparing food for two days! I was so sick an nervous all morning, but guess what I made it through , I layed in bed last night praising God an thanking him, I had a few spells but got through them woke up this morning with the inner shakes but that's ok I will get through. Have a blessed day!
