Hi All not posted in a while because everything was going great until now! I had been ill in October with a bad fever which required antibiotics a week after I was off them my palpitations and panic attack came out of nowhere I have had no anxiety for the last 4/5 months it was all going well. Does anyone know if antibiotics can mess up your system and cause palpitations and anxiety all over again? I had no palpitations at all whilst ill for 2 weeks. I am crushing here I had made so many changes and thought I had answers.

That has happened to me more than once. You must take probiotics.

Hi I got antibiotics and high doseof steroids for 5 days. Started with palpitations and very bad anxiety and depression when I had finished them. I am thinking that they must do something to the nervous system. Doc has now put me on Mertazapine for the anxiety.I suppose everyones system is different with medications

It could be the antibiotics, I do know that hormones, thyroid and adrenal imbalances can all impact anxiety as well as caffeine. poor diet and lack of sleep. Anxiety can also make us be come hyper-focused on body sensations and blow things our of proportion.

Hi, Friends31. Years ago, I had taken an antibiotic. While I was on it, I had felt very bad, physically. I thought I would have to go to the hospital, as I didn't know if it was the antibiotic or something else. Sometime soon after I had gotten off of it, I realized that most-likely, the dose had been way too high and my body was strongly reacting to it. I told my Dr, and she also thought I had been on too high of a dose. After I had stopped the med, I felt better. In my opinion, I would see a Dr, because it seems questionable why you would have your symptoms a week after stopping the antibiotic when you had almost none a short time before that. I hope all is well.
