My panic attacks are changing

I've had panic disorder for years. It sucks but for the most part I know what to expect. Now I'm having these new panic attacks where my whole body gets cold and I get extremely confused, the world around me feels unreal and unsafe. Right now it's dark outside and it feels like the darkness is closing in on me. I've never had a problem with the dark before. Can panic attacks change like this? I'm really scared.

It definitely sounds like a panic attack. I think everyone experiences theirs differently, but I can relate to you with feeling disoriented, and the world feeling unreal. It’s actually a common symptom of panic attacks, but the good news is that it goes away once it’s over. Hang in there, we got this!
