I suffer anxiety so anything can bring on problems. I just want to know if anyone has these stomach cramps which get worse with eating. Having test but do not know how this came out of nowhere. Problem is I may have diverticulitis, I ate the wrong thing(granola) . It started off the pain, but I think it is my anxiety making it worse. Just wondering if others find this can happen. Advice to calm it down. Only eating soup and bread.

Sounds like you have a food Intolerance. I started getting cramps daily for nearly a year. I was recommended a lady who uses electricity to identify food Intolerances and vitamin deficiency. Turns out I am yeast intolerant so the beers I was drinking every night were giving stomach cramp and also i was lacking Vitamin B and D. FYI Vitamin B Comex has nassively improved by mood and anxiety. Hope that helps. N.b Cobra and Corona beer are the only 2 beers that you can drink if yeast intolerant.
Thank you Ken83. I have been prescribed Buscopan it helps with the niggling pain but still cannot eat a proper meal without stomach pain and diarrhoea (sorry). Just want to find out for sure what is wrong. I am hoping it is a food intolerance. Being tested for Celiac disease too. Don’t drink beer so no problem. Really useful comments.
Yes Yes Yes. The pain is awful but nothing to do with cancer. Hypersensertivity is the word for us and yes it does get worse with worry. Try fodmap some people find that book helps, Sometimes I can eat raw onions and hot curry and everything is okay another day I have a cheese sandwich and it is awful. Your tests will come back with no serious problems. I sometimes find I can not stand the way my insides twist and turn . Good luck
Thank you Aldershot1 . Just that not had anything like it before. Do realise how anxiety can make things worse. You say fodmap is that the book? Thanks once again
Fodmap is a diet designed to help people with ibs etc.
I cut out lactose and it has made a huge difference.
Hi there! I have had a few diverticulitis flares. So I understand the anxiety around it. Heck whenever I feel pain over on that left side I get tensed up worrying if it is leading to another flare. I would stick to a bland soft diet. Breath. Remind yourself that it will be ok. I hope your tests come back good.
Yes I have IBS and diverticulitis, I love vegetables but find that things like broccoli cabbage sprouts cause flair ups. Suffering from anxiety doesnt help the condition either. I take buscopan when I have a flair up, but I can’t say that they help a lot. It’s just something in the main I have learnt to live with.
