My father past away a few weeks ago from covid pneumonia and ever since the slightest pain, ache or shortness of breath I start thinking I’m having a heart attack, pneumonia or lung cancer. Is anyone else like this?

Constant fear that I’m gonna die
I am so sorry to read about your father.
I think this is a very understandable reaction. I have experienced health anxiety most of my life and so can relate to the feeling of thinking everything is a sign of impending death.
You know it's not though. This is your brain anxiously processing everything that has happened. If it becomes a persistent worry, you should try and seek some help for it, you don't have to feel like this. Take care,

Hi there. As EleanorRose says, this is a reaction to all that has happened. Loosing your father has made you think about your own life. Your feelings will be all over the place at the moment. But try and be strong. Keep yourself healthy, drink plenty of water and go for some good walks. If it persists, talk to your doctor. But talk to someone if you can. These people on this site will help you whenever you feel really down. They are a great support group and have helped me in the past. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you feel the need.
I’ve got my first counselling session today so weirdly I’m looking forward to it.
