Hi! I have also had heart palpitations and they are very scary but most of the time they are from the extra adrenaline your body is producing during anxiety.

And yes you are right, the hormones before your period can often make your anxiety heighten. In my personal opinion, I would suggest an IUD. It not only is very effective at preventing pregnancy and periods, it is affordable and lasts for a long time. I would get into awful moods before my own periods and since I got my IUD it has decreased significantly. Good luck!

Thank u for kind reply Do u mean the mirena coil or a non hormonal one ?

Also will they stop the horrible symptoms before period

I am 49

So peri too

Anxiety and panic has got worse last two yrs

And so many awful symptoms

Dr offered me mitazapine to help with the anxiety and bad sleep patterns

I have really turned into a nervous wreck and this added crap with the heart palpitations xxx

I have the mirena because the hormones in it help with hormone regulation in my body which has helped a lot.

Hi Tyson1-3

I used to get a lot of missed beats when my period was due when I was in my 30’s onwards ...still have them now at (68) over the years I’ve had so many tests to find out what’s causing them...never did!! Yes I agree I think it hormonal and also think anxiety can be a factor as Iam a worrier and panickier

But it’s frightening when they come on , I’ve gone off to A&E quiet a few times , to be told there not dangerous , which is great but it does get me down...

Hope your feel better now

Sue

Morning

Thanx for reassuring reply . Yeah mine seem to off got worse beguining of feb as my period basically lasted who month off and on . Had bloods done for everything few times had smear and stool test as stomach issues too . Just not sure if it’s anxiety or hormones . I am a anxious wreck . But the missed beats are the worst. Yest weren’t too bad but days before that it was bad . It wrecks ur day and my health anxiety doesn’t help . Did u find a cure of anz ? My bloods for hormones came out normal . 3 bloody times now . I am 49 and all this started 2 yrs ago . Had ecg last year nov but was fine . I spoke to dr yest and she said to do another ecg but a 24 hr one but then later yest she called to say none are available and to go for a normal ecg at a clinic. Really hate this . Really getting me down . My quality of life is rubbish . My stomach playing up too and I find also if stomach upset or bloated I get them bad so confused wat that are these weird beats and fast rates .

Not sure whether to try a anti depressant. I have lost weight too due to not eating and no appetite . Xxx feel really alone atm fighting this never knowing when they will come .

Hope we can stay in touch xxx

Oh you poor thing, I do know how your feeling, I used to feel like a bloody hypochondriac and still do sometimes, my kids think I worry to much and stress about to much which doesn’t help me.....but this is real 😩

Funny enough my two eldest boys have the missed beats now again, so I’ve passed it on I think 😬 they said they don’t worry about it like me!!

One 45 and 47 near your age ...

I did have diazepam 5mg few years back to see if it helped , just made me feel tired, I was given flecainide by cardiologist in my thirty’s which did suppress the missed beats, but again I felt so tired all the time, I had five children at the time from 2yrs-12yrs and very stressful life , so I stopped then.....

I could write a book about all this 😂

But I really think your tummy problems are stress as I lose weight and don’t eat when I have really bad days, weeks of full on ectopic beats...I feel them everyday to be honest but try to ignore them when I can, but it’s bloody hard 😞

Iam actually waiting for 24hr tape , could be up to 6 weeks...I’ve been having them again quite a lot my doctor wanted me checked out again!

Try the magnesium citrate or tirate I’ve been on it for over month , they haven’t been so bad ...it’s apparently for anxiety too...

Watch Dr,Gupta on you tube ...he talks about everything on there, anxiety, magnesium,,ectopic beats the lot , he made me feel better ..

And yes we must keep in touch ..you can always message me sweetheart even if it’s late a night...I’ve been there

It’s good to talk 😃

Take care

Thank you so much for replying it is just so scary when they come on . Mostly evenings and mornings . Not sure if related to my bloated stomach or it’s just anxiety

Last couple days they been on only a few but last week was horrendous I was soo scared . Worse if I laid down on left side

Had ecg in nov but was ok . But never had missed beats . Dr just prescribed me lanzapole anti acid tabs as the bloating starts mine off but as u said when u have anxiety any twinge u panic snd mind races which makes it worse . Don’t know if I need a anti depressant xxx

Perhaps something to relax you yes.

Nothing to heavy though ... talk it through with your doctor or when you’ve had your ecg .. it’s so hard to switch off 😌

Take care talk again ..

Hi mine come out of the blue, I can wake up with them, have fluttering during the day , then when I want to go to sleep , they start, mines like missed beats , sometimes my heart feels like it stopped and the blood doesn’t get to my head and I think Iam going to go out...Its awful feeling...I’ve had some bad ones, but never passed out thank god...that when I go see the cardiologist again, but they do ecg at hospital and say it’s not dangerous...but it doesn’t help my mind working over time ......I keep meaning to ask doctor what this vagus nerve is all about! I hear people on here talking about it!

I’ve been feeling so lightheaded for a few weeks, which I thought was BP but it’s fine...doctor given me loads of different bloods test , all ok...Iam having a rotten day today, make me feel tired too😫

Iam falling to bit too 😂🤣 got laugh or you cry ...

Glad you haven’t had them bad last 24hrs...try to keep the anxiety down if you can..hark at me 😄

X

in reply toDeary63

Awful awful .. yes I get them when I go bed or lay certain position and mornings I get them and stomach sinks . I had few earlier but I quickly got up and walked bout . I get lightheaded too . Yeah the vagus nerve I have read up on too it’s a floating nerve and gets aggravated . I get really bad days too where I just wanna hide somewhere . I totally feel u xxx

in reply to

My beats are like 3 normal beats then it pauses then it beats weird then normal than 3 beats again and pause it’s damn scary . Hate it so much it ruins my day and won’t eat either x I am totally with u xxx

in reply toDeary63

Just had all my bloods done too and all ok apart from low vit d . I am wondering if we are low in magnesium or potassium or stuff like that as these won’t show up in bloods I was told . Or it’s just our anxiety or adrenaline x

Deary63 profile image
Deary63 in reply to

Iam low on Vit D too but I do take it daily now !! Plus the magnesium ... yes there could be a link ..

Yes my beats are 3 -4 then miss plus the fluttering ..

Iam having them tonight a bit ....I wish I could get to bottom of my light head ness .. I’ll be glad when I’ve had this 24hr tape ! I think I’ve got another 4 weeks to wait 😬

If you want to private message me anytime please do so !

I think you go on my profile !!

Hope you sleep well tonight ...x

in reply toDeary63

Ok will do hun x

try evening primrose oil capsules take 2x 1000 mg capsules once a day a week before your period is due , this will ease the anxiety

It is due to the drop in the hormone progesterone , just reading more about you and it seems you would benefit from bio identical natural progesterone cream
