Heart awareness

I'm having some trouble tonight. I just can't seem to get my mind off of my heart. Its like I'm constantly listening to my chest for every little thing all day. It really bothers me. I wish I could ignore my heart honestly.

Does anyone experience this? Any tips for me?

Hi Anon, most people on this site have focused on their heart at one time or another.

After all, it is the core of our being. Without our heart beating, we'd no longer be.

The thing is, we do not have to worry about our heart. It takes care of us without us

having to think twice about it.

It's our anxiety that plays into this obsession. If we get rid of our anxious thoughts, we

get rid of the intrusive focus on our anatomy. The idea when this happens is to refocus

our mind on something pleasurable. Something that takes concentration such as a puzzle,

a book, a good movie. (having some mommy and baby time) I wish you well in changing

that habit. :) xx

Thanks agora. I just wanted to vocalize it i suppose. I will keep working on it. The feedback is appreciated.

It's always good Anon, never be ashamed to vocalize. What is also helpful

is to go back over your posts from the past. You will begin to see a pattern as

well as highs and lows. This can better make you understand that you lived

through those lows. Nothing happened to you. Anxiety doesn't play fair but

one day you will win over this monster. It will happen. How is the baby doing?

You are so blessed to have a beautiful little girl.

I may not answer each and every post you write, but know that I read everyone

and am watching over you. Want you safe and well. :) xx

Thank you agora, I appreciate the concern.

I can't say i have a baby. I'm certain you keep up with a lot of people here! I'm a single guy in my mid 20's with no kids. I'm in a stage in my life where I'm extremely wrapped up in my career.

I wish you well

I know she had a username change. You must have wondered what

I was talking about. I'm not following you :) but I'd be happy to watch

Hi!I can relate. Im obsess with my heart rate too. I've bought a Fitbit just to keep track of it, I know.. crazy right. I even went as far as getting a blood pressure monitor. One thing I can say, for me the obsession goes away for awhile. Until I have a panic attack. Then I relive this same cycle, its frustrating.

Oh yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. Its like the moment things get better they just come right back again.

I thought about getting a fit bit but I'm worried it wouldn't help in taking my attention away from my heart.
