Heart flutters

Has anyone ever had this?? I feel like every 10 seconds or so, especially on my exhale, my heart jumps. It's the weirdest feeling in the world!! It's been happening for months but on and off. I tried to bring it up to the doctor so he gave me an ekg which was normal. He chalked it up to anxiety. I'm afraid it's so much more than that!! Ugh if anyone has felt this can you please respond. I've had a racing heart. This is totally different. It jumps. Or restarts. Or something!

  • It sounds like palpitations, or PVCs. They are typically not a problem. If your doctor says the ekg is normal, there is probably no need to worry. You could always see a cardiologist to get his/her opinion. PVCs can be vitamin deficiency related. They can can also be controlled with low dose beta blockers. I hope this helps.

  • Thanks dizzygrl! I've actually read something about vitamin deficiencies causing palpatations. When ever it happens I just through myself into panic mode

  • I totally understand. It happens to me too!

  • yes i'v heard that magnestium helps

Magnesium and calcium. Magnesium is a calming mineral that nourishes the nervous system and helps prevent anxiety, fear, nervousness, restlessness and irritability. Magnesium is also very protective of the heart and arteries; again, this is important if you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks.

  • Magnesium is probably a good bet. Calming plus helpful for muscle twitches, cramps and spazms. I take it daily.

  • My cardiologist recommended magnesium and ignoring them.

  • I'm just sick of it all. I've been to the doctors ER I feel like a thousand times and anyone with anxiety knows that we are always convinced its something life threatening. I get checked for one thing & feel at ease & then something else starts & you know it's not a normal symptom so you become panicked. I also start to search the web & try to find out what's causing it & as we all know the moment you do that you open pandora box! The moment I looked this up the first hit I got was something about an anurysm 😔 needless to say I'm trying to make yet another appointment. This actually came out of nowhere for me. It's definitely feels like it in my stomach it can go anywhere from 5mins or way longer. I also get this feeling in my throat where it almost feels like I'm being chocked not to the point to pass out but it feels weird & gets tight. I also have shortness of breath here and there. It's a visious cycle & I hope we all get better one day!! 😊
