Positive Toxicity
I didn't quite understand that term when I first read your post. I looked for it and I was like oh ok. Yeah I agree. Especially if we're struggling, listening or seeing others preach positivity might not register for us. I think it's all a balancing act. Both positive and negative emotions have their function and benefits. Sometimes I can find incredibly positive people really annoying; it's like they deny any other kind of emotion and don't believe they exist! I can remember a close friend kind of like this and I never felt like we were on the same page. Empathy matters a great deal
You can keep a job. I have had panic disorder most of my life. I was a professor and had to lecture to hundreds of college students. I took the reality of my panic into planning for my classes and came up with "tricks" to help me get through the day. But not easy...
