Just wondering do you guys think it’s good that we come on this and read all these negative things and non stop horrible symptoms all day? Can this contribute to our anxiety? Because this is usually all negative... just thinking .

Is this doing us good?
Yes I totally agree!People like Jeff,Agora, beevee etc I always read as they are so good with advice but I now steer clear of any symptom listing as it just fuels my already over anxious awful state.my doctor told me to put my phone down and steer clear of Google too.
Yes most posts are but people know they can speak their minds here that we'll listen and give some advices and try to help, talking it out to people you know that understand is better than keeping it in. If your anxiety is at its peek best thing to do is stay clear of some posts
I agree to an extent. Yes it may subconsciously be a problem, but I can say that there have been times coming on here has eased my anxiety a lot just by reading these "negative" posts because they were either something I could relate to in that moment or something I needed reassurance about and so happen someones posts did that. But I can still agree with you to because it does add to our anxiety and then we find ourselves stuck with continually coming on this forum just like how we do Google, in which Google has never been a help in my journey at all.
I like this site because it has helped me at times. I like that people can come on here and express how they feel and know they are not alone. But I do take my breaks from the site sometimes because reading symptoms does cause me anxiety as well. Still love the site though and everyone is very helpful.
Hi all. If i may, it is a very good thing if something you hear, read, see or smell, spikes your anxiety because it is another excellent opportunity to practice acceptance and not adding more fear into the equation. Your brain can only learn to switch off anxiety when you are feeling anxious! Thats why acceptance ( allowing) and doing nothing about the symptoms works because your inaction is retraining your brain that there is no threat.
If your primary reason for visiting this website is to continually seek reassurance then i would suggest taking a break because you are not accepting all of the symptoms of anxiety. Fine if you are using it to help you develop an attitude of acceptance and if that is the case, i would highly recommend visiting anxietynomore.co.uk which helped me alot to understand anxiety and develop a new attitude of allowing all of the thoughts and feelings to come and not doing anything to change the situation. Anxiety thrives on avoidance techniques. To overcome anxiety, learn to go towards those fears, accept the thoughts and feelings that will come, allow yourselces to think and feel anything and let time pass. Time is the healer
There were lots if times i thought id never recover but slowly learnt to just sit tight while the anxiety storm swirled around me and letting it pass. Those storms were just negative energy being released and knew that this was all part of the recovery process and to stand aside and do nothing to stop it such as avoiding, suppressing, ignoring etc
