LEXAPRO CITALOPRAM 10mg does it really make u feel worse and feel depressed before better

Hello people of the world. I am currently at 10mg for a week now, And i did 5mg for1week and 2days. Does it really make u feel worse before getting better? Like i am having increased anxiety/depression now. I feel so hopeless and just want the meds to work already.

Doctors have a saying of "go low, go slow "which means start on lower dose then gradually increase to the amount that works best for you. Most meds take 2-3 weeks to kick in. However bodies are not made the same so the doctor can't predict which drug and amount is best for you. Keeping the doctor informed about side effects (tolerable or other) and your feelings are important in getting the right drug for you. You may be lucky with one drug trial or you may need to try something else.

I am on 40mg a day now, it just takes a while to get in your system. Just bear with it and it will feel worse before it gets better.

I have been on 5 mg for 31 days. At the beginning I dealt with some side effects and higher anxiety but now I no longer have the side effects. I don't panic over everything as much as I did, so I feel it has gotten better. Yes it was worse before it was better. Hang in there though because it does get better!
