Scared help
Hi Valerie. Please know you are not alone. The virus is making everyone anxious, and it is even worse for those of us who already have bad anxiety. Being stuck inside and not being able to do anything can also cause more anxiety. I am in the same boat as are many others. It’s horrible and I hope it will all end soon. Watch a good show, watch YouTube videos, watch a movie or read a book and remind yourself we are all in this together
Hi thanks for reply, I have my Son his wife and my Daughter & her husband all working front line health workers both with kids who are at school during usual school time , I have underlying chronic health issues so personally I have been in for over 15 days, my husband is my carer , but just cannot control how I feeling, so stressed , always had anxiety issues , can’t even settle to watch tv etc , stay safe your self.
your feelings are normal
This post might help you with some coping strategies
You are safe in the house. We are all worried; the world is. Calm down. It's hard to get a distraction. You listen to radio; there are commercials about and on tv. A book would be nice. workout, a cup of tea. Chamomile cause its soothing or green tea would be good for you.
Trust and believe. We are all anxious, nervous, scared; and panicky.
i feel the same way i work in dietary in a hospital nervous everyday yes we are all in this together hang in there find something to distract you although that is hard since all we hear is bad news i find reading is good also meditation hope this helps
I use guided meditation to calm my mind. It helps. I belong to an organisation called Brahma Kumaris (Inner Space) who are currently doing daily guided meditations using Zoom. They also do many other things like talks, etc. All free. Here is the link (check the menu) :-
Also please don't feel trapped in your home. You are allowed to go out for an exercise walk daily or to do shopping as long as you keep your distance from others. You are not alone.
Unable to walk without stumbling around I have FND & I am in the vulnerable group so ,
I know I am in for many months , l can’t do any shopping because of going out ,as stated , another night of very little sleep as my body is unable to stay still {FND} , I am very lucky to have a garden as so many people don’t have that privilege. Thanks will look at the website. .....
you can still enjoy a tea on balcony or window . just watching birds or flowers or maybe clouds ..i always look at clouds shape for fun .. 15 minutes of fresh air helps .
Hi you're not alone. My panic attacks came back with a vengeance last week and I know it's my anxiety, triggered by stress about the virus. I am relying on the coping strategeis that work for me:
-making a small to-do list each day of tasks I CAN control (put a wash on, tidy nightstand etc)
-doing my headspace guided meditation/wind-down sessions
-taking breaks from work (from home) to walk about
-only looking at news/socials a few times a day, notifications switched off, Do Not Disturb switched on.
I have some specific health anxiety exercises from my last therapist which I will work through as well.
It's very normal in fact to be worried at this time, lots of people without anxiety are extremely stressed and afraid. So don't beat yourself up about feeling anxious; you're not alone. Those of us with anxiety are just having to work a little harder I think on staying level.

Valerie try and not read or watch depressing news, instead try and watch something funny. Put radio on and dance. Anxiety is horrible but I try to do breathing exercises. Hope you’re feeling better soon
Hang in there dear, I am experiencing the same thing, having stomach issues due to this ordeal. We are all in the same boat, but remember nothing last forever, it will pass
Thanks
