I was wondering, does anyone ever get a panic attack without palpitations?
I noticed that over the last few months, I get an intense feeling of fear and dread wash over me and I suddenly become very aware of everything.
I get the feeling of anxiety in my stomach, racing thoughts, like I'm stuck on a thought and then it passes after about 20 seconds, I think that's due to remembering the work I've been doing and working through the problem.

Hi! I go through the same thing as you do. I used to have heart palpitations, but those sort of just...went away over time? Whenever my panic attack hits, it's
mostly the feeling of intense fear and dread, and my mind races like crazy wondering what the hell's going to happen. Most of the time, I just let it wash over me instead of suppressing it because I realized that suppressing it makes me "recover" from the attack much slower.
Thanks for your reply. How long does it usually last for you now? They lasted about 5 minutes before but I seem to be able to get them down to 20 - 30 seconds by understanding what they are.
The quickest would be about a few minutes, but some of my panic attacks have lasted for about an hour before (on really bad days). I mostly get extra anxious at night or when I'm alone.
I've had anxiety for years and plenty of panic attacks but don't really experience palpitations, which I know most people do. My symptoms tend to be racing thoughts, depersonalisation, intense dread, dizziness etc. Do get breathless but heart symptoms are minimal. Everyone experiences panic differently!
