Has anyone else looked into the claims of this Gary Brecka guy. He claims that a large number of people who experience anxiety actually have trouble with processing folic acid (something like 44% of the population), which causes a deficiency and many symptoms such as anxiety. During my recent anxiety episode I was overseas, and as my wife pointed out, eating massive amounts of high folate food, it did come on sort of out the the blue which causes me to wonder if these claims are true. Has anyone else looked into this in detail? Here is where he talks about it (you can skip his life story at the start if not interested). youtube.com/watch?v=qSBhVlO...

Yes I am very wary of it, it certainly sounds interesting but it also does have a too good to be true ring to it. Have you looked into the details of the science on it? I like the idea of getting to root causes but I'm also aware that there are a lot of people out there who make a living exploiting people with an illness by telling them what they want to hear.
anxiety is a general term. It can be caused by things going wrong in a number of processes, including B12 deficiency caused by PA and other absorption problems. It may have a genetic component but genetic interactions are complex. This forum is not a place for that discussion
