Countless times over tried to explain it but it’s basically a 24/7 vision fog. I feel no change since stopping my antidepressant 2 weeks ago. Still in the vision fog. Hard to explain it really is. So far everyone I’ve talked to about this says “yeah when I’m really anxious my vision gets weird or when my heart rates going up and I get worried and anxious I’ll start to notice my vision get weird” except my visions weird 24/7 like that without me being anxious. I can be happy and it’s still there. This all started after a month or so on prozac. Then after a few months on prozac I stopped and for the 3 months I was off prozac it never left. I was prescribed Paxil and was on that for 7-8 months and still the vision fog remains. Now 2 weeks off of it nothing has changed. Yes I’m agoraphobic and have panic/anxiety bad when I leave home a distance farther than 10 minutes or so. Really wearing on my mental state. I exist, I don’t live and no one is answers for me (blood work fine, eye sight checked out fine)

Vision fog
Im sorry to hear your having these feelings again. Mine are mild. But i still have blurry vision spots and head pressure. Turns out my hemoglobin is elevated again. But other than that everything is decent. Ill keep u posted im seeing doctors still. Im not taking anything other than ativan.
Hi Blake96, of course the first thing I'd say is to have your eyes checked. But you say
they checked out fine. It can be caused from your constant anxiety. Our body is made
up of muscles and that includes behind the eye ball. When we are tense, those muscles
tighten just like they do in the rest of our body. When those muscles tighten, it distorts
the vision. It can be very wearing. Of course the more you worry about it, the muscles
never get to relax (except when you are sleeping)
If you use the computer or smart phone, it strains the eyes even more. Take breaks
and allow your eyes to rest by looking straight ahead at a distance for a while in order
to relax the muscles. It's true that some medications can cause weird eye symptoms
but that's something you need to ask your doctor about. I hope this help some.
Yes this is very helpful, it makes sense actually. And If anything it’s my thoughts and worry about it that have caused it to never go away.
Just to give you some hope one day I went outside and my vision was completely different l. I felt like a soft floaty perception of things that were normally much sharper and the planes of distance were also strangely separated. I had committed to fighting my OCD the day before and felt more confident than anxious to commit to treatment. It got so bad that I was talking to people and it just took all of my focus to really take in there image I also felt like I was off when I walked as if gravity was working differently. I went and had an eye exam, ENT, eventually got glasses wore them for three days and my visions felt worse. I took them off and then knowing I had tried to do everything to address the issue - my vision felt better. I was told a couple of times it was anxiety but just like you it was nonstop. The whole incident lasted anout month and a half.
