So I’m In need of encouragement, advice, support, and whatever else you can give me.
Today I found out that my job will be closing in about a month, and I am very unsure of what to do. I haven’t been in this situation before, and though the obvious answer may be “just find another job”, I somehow feel it’s not that easy or things won’t work out for me My mind is telling me that I won’t be able to find anything that makes me happy and I may as well quit altogether. Suicidal thoughts are creeping in, though not to be taken seriously, I feel as though my mind is trying to find a way out of the stress.
To top it all off I found out that my best friend is leaving for across the country, we are very close so I feel as if I’m losing someone. I have issues with abandonment so I’m not dealing with any of this well AT ALL.
I realize that things could be much worse but I’m in an incredibly dark place right now and I am in need of your help. I feel incredibly overwhelmed and I just need people to talk to right now..
Thank you all so much

My daughter is in the same situation. You are not alone as many people are faced with job loss. You should try to think of it as finding something even better, "When one door closes another one opens" you will make new friends and write your friend that is leaving. You will have a new pen pal.
Everything is going to be ok, Kevin. I will say a Prayer for you xo
So sorry to hear you have all this upset It will seem overwhelming at the moment but give it time to adjust to it then you can think more clearly and deicide what you want to do
You won't know until you start to look for new jobs and who knows you might decide to do something different or a better job may come your way I'm a huge believer in fate
Remember you are not alone
Take one day at a time
My husband was made redundant at the age of 48 we had a big mortgage 3 children it seemed the end of the world It was this time of year too At the time it too was overwhelming but he got a much better job a couple of months later and looking back it was all meant to be
This is the part that I find kind of exciting in a way. I think about how maybe even a month from now things will look completely different, but my problem right now I think is managing my emotions to the point where I can be proactive and now depressive ya know?
I believe in fate as well to an extent, however I’m becoming impatient with it because I feel like I’ve been “messed with” lately haha...
Sorry and even more so cause of your having the abandonment issues from past. I’ve been feeling this myself friends moving away so called friends not responding back or seeming to care at all and I def. felt abandonment multi times as a child and now as I’m grown😣😂💔💞💞💞💞please keep posting & take good care of yourself- you matter you are cared about and you have a purpose and place why shouldn’t you why shouldn’t we all have that??🌻🦋💞
First of all - you are fortunate to have 1 month notice about your job closing. That is a good thing. You have time to plan and take action. Don't let your mind tell you things will not go well - they could go much better than you expect! Use this as a time to try something new and grow your skills. Get a support group to keep your mind thinking positive things. I found a job support group at a local church and another one online. Do you have a resume? That will be one of the first things you need to do. Use the job description for your current position to give you details to add to your resume. There are tons of sample resumes on the internet. Use a job search engine (like Indeed) to find positions in the location you want to work in. (You don't have to have all of the skills the employers are asking for). Practice your interviewing skills with someone. Remember that you have valuable skills that an employer need. It's a numbers game - send out several resumes each week. Don't worry if some don't respond - just keep sending resumes out. It may take a few weeks to get a response. Don't worry if you aren't selected right away - just keep trying. Also, there are a lot of seasonal jobs right now for Christmas - apply for one of those if you need.
