Intense dread today

It's one of those days where I am filled with so much dread I can barely move. I can't do anything. I don't know if it's the effexor withdrawal or starting abilify. Everything looks and sounds strange. Numbers dont make sense to me whenI look at them? Idk I'm really scared.

Shelby, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little of both causing that dreaded feeling.

The best thing you can do right now is to find something that takes your mind off

of those feelings but also allows you to be thinking of something else. Something

that takes concentration (not tv or reading) I've never been on abilify so I'm not

sure of the effects in starting that drug. Where ever it's coming from should be

short lived. Always check with your doctor if symptoms become to problematic.

But know that anxious thoughts regarding the meds affect your mood as well xx

I agree with Agora makes the exact right points. I can certainly sympathies as I ya e felt that dread far to often. One thing I would try and do that works for us close your eyes and imagine yourself stepping outside or body and keep telling yourself that what you’re feeling isn’t you it’s separate from you. Then imagine someone has come to you with the same symptoms you have described and imagine how you would comfort them. Soothing is a very difficult thing but it’s something you’ll learn to master I promise you will. If you need any extra advice just drop me a message

That's natural to fear the unknown. I had many years of unknowns with no one to talk to. At times I just wanted my brain to go to sleep. As I started paying attention to my feelings I realized activity no matter how small lessened the fears. Sometimes sitting on the floor and washing or waxing would calm the thoughts. It's funny because I used to want to crawl up into a ball and sleep but sleep was not available. Even a search a word puzzle book could calm my mind at times. And now when I feel anxious I still reach for a search a word puzzle book and it still works.I buy them 5 at a time just to have them on hand. Good luck to you.

At one point about 8 months ago I could relate to your post, but I'm much much better now, maybe I can help you. Do you have any muscular pain or tightness associated with your anxiety/feeling of dread??

in reply toFrankinHealth19
