I slept although not as brilliant as I would like, was lying on my side at one point and had one of those body jolt when my arm went up then down as if someone makes you jump. That kind of feeling. this morning the top part of my legs felt shaky inside and like jelly, I went downstairs to get a drink and they felt quite weak on walking back upstairs so am lying back in bed for a while. That’s one of the things I don’t like when I don’t feel right.....being alone ☹️ Anyone else have/or had this please?

Shaky legs this morning
I used to get it, the jolt and sometimes the shakey legs or sometimes my arms. I never thought much about it or made a big deal about it, it doesn't happen anymore.
Maybe you where lying awkwardly while sleeping or something.
Is the solution to lie in bed?
I hope you will be ok.
Yes I know what you mean and I don’t know if lying in bed is helping but I really don’t feel too good today. It’s 10.30am so I’ll get up in a minute as my legs are still feeling weak. I’ve been on my meds 3 and half weeks but the doctor upped the dose about a week and half ago,
So I’ve got to play the waiting game for them to kick in. Suppose it’s like I said, sometimes being on your own doesn’t help. Plus Im not dealing with it very well.
You will be ok I'm sure, just keep going, chat to us more if it helps. I hope the meds I'll eventually make a difference to you.
Hi Laniben.
I definitely used to get quite alot of those jolts and alot of pins and needles.
Strangely enough I tended to get them more on good days for some reason. May be a positive sign that your antidepressants are starting to get you better.
Glad you slept abit better.
Hope you have a good day.
Kim
Thank you Kkimm. I hope so about the meds never been on anything before so I can’t compare x
Typical, now the shaky and weak feeling has sort of left my legs and got it in my arms now and feeling a bit nausea 😐
It will be tough at first especially when you have had a dose increase but you sound as if you are doing really well.
As you know I am now fully recovered through medication and positive thinking etc. At first on the medication, I was much worse than before taking it but very gradually got really well on it.
My worse time was the first two weeks I think. Then I got good days very occasionally until finally more good than bad, then after around a year almost no bad days. After 22 months I feel better than I did before I was ill. Not tempted to stop taking them yet though as I still get mild symptoms at times. Not worry or depression, just a bit of breathlessness.
It is hard to deal with it on your own so feel free to write or message anytime and I will answer as soon as I can.
Hope you have a good active day and sleep well tonight
Kim.
Thank you so much, I understand, had been on a low dose for 2 weeks then was upped doctor said it will take a few weeks but at times yes i wonder if meds are making me feel worse, all this is really not me. Ive got up because i dont think lying in bed is doing much. With regards to the sleep problem, it wasnt the sleep i was hoping for and i did feel a little unwell beforehand, so its sort of contributed to everything. Thank you again Kim x
I thought my legs were going to collapse last night I was so anxious. The adrenaline does so much to us, even when we don’t feel anxious! Mine was worse when thinking about it and they’d get so shaky and jelly-like.
Yes I know what you mean, I was Pottering about earlier, changes the bed covers, slid the sofa to the other side of room, then had a phone from a friend who I didnt feel like talking to, then had to do my dinner then spoke to someone else after and now I feel all shaky again in my arms, like I’m all nervous because I’ve tried to have a fairly normal day ☹️
Oh you poor thing Just know it’s so common even if it feels like it isn’t anxiety. A psychotherapist told me the more we worry, the more our body produces the bad chemicals from the sympathetic nervous system. The only things that combat these are therapy and controlling anxiety (hard) and exercise (endorphins, dopamine) and sleep (serotonin). The days you feel terrible and anxious, try doing jumping jacks or go for a run if you can. It’s so freakin hard to do this if you have physical symptoms but it does help in the long run. If you have an iPhone, I suggest the Pacifica app and the progressive muscle relaxation therapy (“relax your muscles”)
I cant afford therapy unless its on nhs, and theres a waiting list forever, yes i have an iphone I’ll go on the app store for pacifica, thank you
I so so wish therapy was free. I’m happy to share with you anything I learned from my therapist, and I promise you that Pacifica helps me a lot. Progressive relaxation at night time will put you to sleep and it does something to the body that takes away anxiety gradually. B complex and D vitamins are also supposed to help!!
Yes i wish it was free too ☹️
Ive downloaded it, someyou have to pay for, just checking to see
How much it is. I feel awful at the moment. Arms weak and feeling jittery. Anything you can pass on would be helpful thank you so much.
Don’t worry about paying - the only one you need is “relax your muscles” and that’s free I promise this technique works in the long run. It helped me a lot!!! I’ll keep you posted on new techniques!
That "jolt" you are describing sounds like a hypnagogic jerk. Its muscle spasms that happen when falling asleep. 60-70% of people experience them at some point or another. They are very common in people who have anxiety.. Stress.. Fatigue.. Or sleep depreivation. Hope that helps..
Ye I get it all time love my legs ache so bad and then feel like jelly all day feel like they are going to give up on me xxx
