As some of you may already know, I suffer from GAD. I think my body is honestly always stressed as well as my mind. Is it normal to have panic/anxiety attacks when just lying down? Also, I’ve been having a headache, my legs feel so heavy when I walk, I feel breathless, and I feel dizzy. Most of the time I feel like everything is wobbling back and forth if this makes sense. I went to the ER not too long ago and everything seems fine, so I’m sure this really is just anxiety, but I just don’t understand it. I have days that are perfect, days that are just ok, and days that are absolutely horrible. Being breathless or feeling breathless really scares me.. and I hate the dizziness because it’s hard to do anything. I sometimes even feel dizzy while lying down!!!

Is this just anxiety?
I have many of these symptoms as well- for me I feel more lightheaded than dizzy. I also have a headache and sometimes feel short of breath. Some of it may be my thyroid but I’m sure a good portion is anxiety.
Yes, you can have a panic attack while laying down. That's one of the "great" things about them... they can happen anywhere at anytime. LOL. I know it isn't funny but I try to make light of it as much as I can. My favorite is when I fall asleep only to wake up in a complete panic a short time later. Thank you anxiety for always being there.
I understand completely. I try to laugh about it as well because that’s how I cope with it. Thank you for the reassurance! Oh my gosh yes. I hate that. Especially when you’ve only been asleep for a few minutes, but you feel like you were in a deep sleep because you’re so tired and your anxiety wakes you up. Ahhh so lovely
Yes!!! It feels like you’ve been asleep for quite some time when in reality it’s been 15 minutes. Then you’re so tired but you can’t fall back asleep because your body is ready to run. 🤦🏼♀️
I understand completely! This sounds more along the lines of health anxiety, you’re worried about your health. Millions suffer from it, and you’re not alone. I suffer from it, I just found this web page and I’m so happy to know there are so many people just like me. I get the dizziness, fatigue, and panic attacks laying down! Lord do I, I started on a new medication called Buspar 6 days ago, and I’ve had 1 panic attack since, when I usually get 1 or 2 a day. I’ve been to the ER for a panic attack (they gave me a shot in my butt! Haha) but honestly, my biggest and best advice would be talk to your doctor, see what they can do, find the right pathway, and if you think it’s not working - then go back and talk to your doctor again. Communication is the key to a better life without constant worry ! If my doctor isn’t available when I need her I typically go to Urgent Care, not the ER. If you ever have any questions, concerns, anything - message me!
