I am with pp. New Age materials do nothing for me. I find a wealth of riches in the Bible. It brings comfort, perspective, peace, strength, and so much wisdom. Start in the New Testament. I recommend John.
I had horrible anxiety and worry. Then I head a man speak about a book that changed my life. It was called Prison to Praise, written by Merlin Carothers. It is a very small book; it will probably take two hours to read the book. It is about this man's journey from being in prison to a life filled with incredible joy, gratitude, and peace. You can get it on Amazon for about $4 (shipping and handling included. I was going through a very tough time when this man shared this book with me, and on nights I could not sleep, I would read it over and over again. I took a highlighter and highlighted particularly powerful messages. Then when I finished that book, a friend gave me another by him named Power In Praise. I get even more out of that one than I do Prison to Praise. I suggest you read them both and highlight the passages you want to come back to and read again. It's about what we're filling our minds with. Just try them and see if they help you to a more peace-filled life. They made a world of difference for me.

Yah j you for your time and thank you for sharing.
Hi I am pleased you have your beliefs and that they help you. However as this site is open to everyone and many aren't believers, or have a different faith, you need to be aware that promoting your own faith on here is against HU's terms and conditions.
Well if I have to respect other people's beliefs if they speak them on the site then I think they should be able to respect mine. I don't tell anyone not to say anything about what they believe please don't tell me and other believers not to say what we believe in. Where do you draw the line ? Someone is always getting their toes stepped on or being offended. If I don't like the color blue and you do..should I not talk about blue because then I'm treading on someone else's opinions or choices.?
To tell someone not to express their beliefs or opinions because it could be perceived as unfair or intrusive to others..is doing nothing but removing ones right to freedom of speech..and to freedom of religion..laid down in our constitution. That's one of the causes of all this anxietyand depression in the world, everybody's afraid to say how they feel or is unsure who they can talk to because somebody's going to be offended and take something the wrong way. It is indeed a sign of the times.
It is fine to pass on reading material tips whatever their subject but from your above statement I took it to be promoting your own religion. If I am wrong I apologise Not having a go at you but as a non believer myself I find it offensive when members are encouraging others to believe.
I am on another site where this all spiralled out of control and you got 'evangical type posts/replies' quoting bible passages and telling everyone to believe in god or they would be damned and go to hell etc. HU shut them down and said no one is allowed to promote their own religion on the sites. I must admit I am a bit god gun shy now. x
I applaud you for sharing a wealth of information with those willing to lend an ear, it truly is where peace lies. And for those who are not... So be it!!!
