I travelled to Punta Cana last. On my vacation I suffered the worst panic attack of my whole life. I thought I was going to die and it had ruined my entire vacation. When I have a panic attack my body feels like it’s shutting down. Even after the attack I still felt like I was going to die, I wanted to go home early and leave Punta Cana. When I came back I got medicine from my doctor, this helped my anxiety but made me gain a bunch of weight so I had to stop taking it. Now I’m not on any medication and I haven’t had that bad of anxiety or really any panic attacks lately but I’m going to Jamaica in May and I’m nervous I’m going to have a bad panic attack again and want to go home and not enjoy my vacation. Does anybody have any tips ?

Travel Anxiety?
I need to tips on this two as I have had 3 panic attacks in my life, and all have been whilst I’ve been on vacation and I’m heading to New Zealand in May and I’m semi dreading it!!! Hold in there xoxo best recommendations I use are; at night time put lavender oil on your temples, hot water bottle, peppermint tea and the app “calm” (and some emergency medication if necessary) xx
thank you for your tips! It’s stressful cuz I want to travel the world but I also am scared I’ll wanna come home early again
Ask you dr for ativan just in case
Yes I currently have that, I only take it when I’m having a panic attack, when I went last time I didn’t have it so I hope that this helps if I’m there suffering from anxiety!
Great does the ativan help you
I’ve only used it a handful of times but it does benefit me when I am in desperate need of relief
Are you okay once you get home? It takes me 3 or 4 days to come out of the depression and anxiety I feel from traveling. Sometimes I feel like maybe I just shouldn't travel but my husband loves to travel. I like it too but I am always so scared to feel this way before, during and after. Any suggestions?
