Update

My doctor prescribed lexapro 20mg and it's working tremendously. I still take small amounts of xanax with it but my anxiety is minimal now. I've been on it for 2 weeks now and i don't have anxiety while driving anymore or when i have gastro discomfort. I am waiting for some other tests to come back but at this time.....i owe my anxiety free days to lexapro. Hope this helps someone. xo👍😁

I have just started lexapro yesterday. I hope to have the same results. I have tried most of the other medications with little to no relief. I have bad anxiety that often turns into panic attacks while driving. Before lexapro did you have panic attacks? Have you previously tried other meds? Thanks Rob

Hi rob. Yes, i had panic attacks, especially when in traffic. I had anxiety all the time. I was on lexapro 6 years ago for 3 years. I had been on prozac which helped and effexor xr which didnt help. The only reason i stopped for 6 years was to see what it was like without it. Now i know how much it is helping me. I hope you have the same result. xo

I feel the same. We're on our way. Sometimes i still feel a little anxious even with the lexapro but the little bit of xanax makes it go away. It takes a little time for your body to adjust to the medication...maybe 2-3 weeks. Just give it a chance. 👍😀

Did you have any side affects from lexepro or Xanax ?

Hi:). With xanax i do not have side effects, but with lexapro i been having vivid dreams and a fast heartbeat at least once a day for 20 mins (prob just release of adrenaline). With this fast beat, i have zero anxiety or panic. I have only been on the 20mgs for 2 weeks. I am waiting to see how i feel in a few more weeks....hopefully my body will fully adjust by then. Still, it's helping so much with my anxiety👍😀

Hi any insight as to why you get anxious in traffic?

That is one of my most hated events. I have stopped going places because ( absurdly) I wonder, if there will be traffic on the highway and will I happen to choose to flip out about it.

BUT this traffic thing has come up for the past few years and I hate it.

Hi. I always thought i had anxiety in traffic or stopped at a red light too long, because i didn't feel like i was in control....i felt boxed in and all of a sudden it was hard to breathe. It only started happening to me a couple of years ago.

So far, my first step was 20mgs of lexapro and a chip of xanax when needed. It seems to be working for me. I plan to talk to someone, but haven't made arrangements yet.

Hi sandizuck, I'm glad to hear that you have had success with Lexapro as well.

I have been on Lexapro for about 5 years now and no longer need Xanax. It's

Agora, when I upped my Lex, I backed off my xanax too. In my town ( the heroin hub of the midwest) our docs refuse to prescribe it anymore. I had to do something............
