Hey all. Been suffering from anxiety and panic for 3 months now ( always had it but has been worse). I’ve had headaches everyday for 7 weeks (not as frequent now), head tension, jaw pain and pressure, and now water diarrhea for 2 weeks. I was prescribed 10 mg of lexapro (I believe it’s the generic version) last week. Has anyone every taken this drug? I’m very nervous to start, fearing I will have bad side effects and that it will make my stomach issues worse. Anyone have positive results? And did you take it at night or day? Please no negative reactions as it will make my anxiety go through the roof.

Thank you!

I am on the generic of Lexapro for 5 years now. After much trial land error with other medications, the doctors found that Lexapro at 15mg was the right drug for me. No side effects short of dry mouth. No sleepiness and able to be clear headed. I can only wish the same results for you. Since this medication was started in the hospital, I have kept the same regiment and that is to take it with food after lunch each day. It allows the med to go through your system better. Allow 4-6 weeks for it to reach full efficacy and a little more if the dose is increased during that time.

Good Luck CEBGSU.... I wish you well xx

I’m so glad to hear I’m not alone about the headaches. I’ve been having headaches on and off for half a year now. It’s a lot of different ones and I’m convincing myself it’s a brain tumour ugh :/

I’ve been going to a massage therapist every other week. She says my headaches are partially due to so much tension in my neck and back. Which is from the constant anxiety and stress. Her massages have helped greatly with the headaches! I’ve only gone 4 times but they keep getting less frequent and more tolerable.

I have taken lexapro for about 7 years. It has worked better and longer than any other medication I've taken. And I've taken many. I started on 10 mg about 7 weeks or so ago my doctor bumped me up to 20 mg and it is helping again now. I take mine at 7pm. Like Agora1 the only side effect I've had is dry mouth and that was only in the beginning. Give it some time.

I wish you the best. Love and light to you 🌹
