Nervousness at my age and clonipin

I am 63. Off clonipin but so much nervousness. I do not feel fear of anything but just nervous and antsy. I guess that is anxiety? I am beginning to think Clonipin is better to take than to not take. I know it doesn’t help our memory but at 63 I don’t remember well anyway 🤪. I agree with many of u when u say this isn’t life. Why can’t someone help with this? I do not u sweat and. Does anyone else take Clonipin and what about effects?

Did you transition to another medication after stopping klonipn? How much were you talking and .how long have you been off?

2 mg per day. One morning and one night. I took it for about two years. And was on Wellbutrin and Lexapro. Stopped Wellbutrin also. Now just on Lexapro. Been off both meds for about 6 months

I stopped for 5 months some time ago and never was right, very bad experience. I also was taking 2mg daily. I finally went back to taking klonipin but at only .50 to .75mg max. After having stopped for the 5 months I found that the reduced dose was then just as effective as the 2mg dose. I've been at the .50mg for a long time now, .25 am and .25mg pm. I think the key for long term effectiveness without side effects is to take minimal effective dose and not increase. The medication really helps me, and I have no regrets about reinstating. It's best if you can stay off, but for me the benefits far outweighed the potential downside.

Cathy - I'm 65. In previous years I have been in a mental hospital four times for anxiety and associated emotional issues. I have had a very difficult life. One thing I've leaned is that anxiety can cause all kinds of odd symptoms that have no significance. None. And in the end drugs don't solve problems. The key is to accept where you are at. No matter how uncomfortable it seems. Acceptance is the key to giving yourself some time to heal. If you really accept - I mean really accept where you are at - you will slowly heal. There is no other lasting solution.

My suggestion would be to get medical assistance with going of Kloapin. You can certainly do it. For me, I had to go very gradually.

Best of luck.
