Feeling really off help!

Hi I’ve suffered with anxiety for many years this year particularly bad since I had a dizzy spell driving to work back in January and it has set me off on a path of anxiety which has been on and off most of the year. I went straight to doctors after the dizzy spell had all sorts of blood tests which were all fine. Ever since though I’ve had vision issues which my doc says is anxiety, I’m on sertraline (6 weeks)but as yet it hasn’t helped and my eyes feel so odd especially driving and in the dark. I am even changing cars this week to see if it helps?? Please help me understand why this is happening to me I am so frightened that I will pass out at the wheel!

Often times when a sensation scares us so badly we become hyper focused and even more sensitive to it. So even if you are able to distract yourself in your subconscious mind you’re thinking something to the effect of “gosh I hope that doesn’t happen today,” or “whew so far hasn’t happened.” Which in turn makes it happen! It becomes a habit if you will. It seems impossible but the best way to work through it is to accept it for what it is...anxiety. Once you accept it the worry/fear cycle will lessen and the sensation will lessen. So when you get in that new car tell yourself you’re not afraid, nothing bad is going to happen and believe it.
