No sleep : I just wake up with hot flashes... - Anxiety Support
No sleep
How long you been taking the antidepressants for ? My daughter took weeks before she started to feel better.but if you been on them longer than 6 weeks you may need to try another one as these one may not be working.
How many weeks? And what antidepressant she on?
She's on citalopram been on them 6 months now but felt terrible the first 6 weeks on them
How she feel now
Hi forgot to say doctors always tell you before you start any antidepressants that you will feel a lot worse before you start to feel better.
2 weeks being sober 2 been on Prozac
Am having hot flashes can’t sleep or eat
You need to give them few more weeks to kick in if you only been on them for two weeks the not eating and sleeping sound like the side affects that will wear off as your body gets used to medication
Yes I know I was on citalopram myself about 8 years ago and side effects were bad but I was lucky doctor gave me diazepam 2 mg to take when I was feeling supper anxious and that helped
How bad ?
Very bad symptoms all the same as you have had.but after about month to 6 weeks started to feel so much better all side effects went.I then felt back to normal no anxiety and slept and ate well so it does work.so much so that I told doctor I don't think I need it anymore and came off it after a year.because I was feeling so good.but thinking back maybe I should of stayed on it.
I’m on Citalopram 10mg / day and sleep only about 3 hrs night. But it was like that before I started on them 2 weeks ago. Hoping things improve.
What other side effects? Am thinking about getting on citalopram
I’ve not had any at all- I think because I was / am so so stressed / anxious / burnt out before I started them. I was sleepless, stomach ache, weight loss- basically totally knackered. So these didn’t do anything extra.
I’m on Zoloft and abilify and it took some time to actually work, it was worth getting past all the annoying side effects though! I finally feel like my normal self again.
I couldn’t get past the annoying side effects from Prozac
Yeah I was on prozac and hated the side effects so I had to switch meds! It takes some time figuring out which is right for you but the key is to always give it some time! I would wait a month to actually see results, you have to help yourself too
How long did u wait? And what medication did u switch too
I waited a month on prozac and switched to Zoloft which is similar to Prozac I also waited a month on Zoloft but ended up giving it a extra few more weeks because it was helping then it stopped then it started helping again. Best of luck! You will find the right meds for u
How bad did it get for you? Because right now I can’t get off my couch without feeling breathless and weak so I ended up laying back down haven’t got off my couch can’t go to my bathroom or front and haven’t left my house in 5 days I have to stop taking Prozac Sunday after being on it for 2 weeks and I been sober for 2 weeks and I started back taking my iron pills because my iron is low I am just praying it don’t get bad like last year when I couldn’t leave my room for 2 months or my house I was afraid to walk to my kitchen and living room because of fear stop driving didn’t walk out my front door it was a very scary time and I thought I wouldn’t make it out and am scared right now haven’t been eating or really sleeping
I had a lot of different symptoms, I had the out of breathe feeling too, I think its best not to drink on these types of medications because it can make the side effects so so much worse! Try to eat something though, its normal to have a messed up sleep schedule on this when you first start taking it.
This past couple of years I've been really unwell and have been tackling B12 deficiency and other issues. It wasn't until my naturopath mentioned that I might have a histamine intolerance that things have started to make sense. Maybe Google/YouTube histamine intolerance symptoms and see if any of them reflect your issues. I was really surprised by the list of symptoms (anxiety, heart palpitations, dizziness, fatigue, as well as other physical symptoms) and now have another issue to work with but it might help you - alcohol has a really, really high histamine content, so it might be your issue. Worth a try.
Felt the same way for along time about not being able to stay sleeping then once I did get to sleep didn't want to get up what I found out is that we are now trying to please everyone but ourselves and think every move we make someone will condem us because they think it's not good enough or right enough for them well guess what we are only hear on this Earth for a very short time and what I did was gave up trying to have a confrontation with almost everyone I came in contact with and you will be very surprised on how much better your life will be I am on no medication nor was I ever because I feel that every time you see a doctor they just don't seem to fix underlying problems unless you really do have something serious just try to live your life with your own set of values and you will find out life isn't that bad
